Bringing their considerable experience in the rock trenches to bear on the music world, KXM make their self-titled debut with an album of sprawling hard rock. Made up of the Lynch Mob’s George Lynch, King’s X member dUg Pinnick, and Korn drummer Ray Luzier, the veteran rock trio’s first outing feels appropriately tight, with each of its members’ expertise shining through on track after track.
KXM feels like a bluesier, more plaintive outing than some of its members’ other projects, but the sound is one that works for the band. Luzier’s playing is rock-solid, providing a firm foundation for Pinnick and Lynch to wander around.
That said, however, ”KXM” born from jam sessions, and the songs here are long running times. Not all fans are aware that earMUSIC decided to re-mix the album for the European release. Many of the songs not only sound different and have alternate opening / ending, but the vary in running time as well.
So for all collectors and fans out there, here’s “KXM [European Version / Re-mixed]“, released on digipak.

These three individual musicians already achieved a lot of success on their own, but what they created here on their self-titled debut album of this new SUPERGROUP is something really precious and special.
They first met on the birthday of Luzier’s one year old son and Ray showed them around the house and also the studio he had built. They immediately hit it off and decided to make a record together. Ten days later they had a record – almost.

Written and composed by KXM as a band unit almost straight after they met for the first time – this debut album came almost out of nowhere. They just started jamming without a clue what they will do with the material that was growing from the jam sessions they had occasionally.
They had no management, label, crew or anything – just the three grown up men and their fun of playing together. The album is produced by Chris Collier (Lynch Mob, Tommy Bolin). After being done with the first ten songs all of a sudden several labels showed interest in signing the trio but they needed two more songs. And they only had 2 days left to write and record them.

This “KXM [European Mix]” trim some fat and perhaps results more cohesive that the USA mix. Honestly, both versions are great.
A devastating rockin’ CD.
