To be released June 26, 2026, “Wired For Sound” is the upcoming new album from Melodic Hard Rockers ROCKETT LOVE, featured in exclusive on 0dayrox.
Since 2015, ROCKETT LOVE has been one of Sweden’s high-octane Melodic Hard Rock / AOR force, known for combining ’80s arena rock with modern energy. With singer Daniel Samuelsson and guitarist Stefan Westerlund at the helm, the band has delivered big choruses and uncompromising attitude through albums like Grab The Rocket, Greetings From Rocketland and Galactic Circus.
Now they return with “Wired for Sound”, an explosive collection of melodic rockin’ tunes. Produced by the band and engineered by Mats Eriksson (DEGREED), this is the best sounding ROCKETT LOVE to date.
On the opening track ‘If You Want Love’ the band exude their captivating WINGER influence once again, especially Samuelsson’s magnetic tone shaping the melody over a very melodic guitar work bringing to mind HAREM SCAREM, DANGER DANGER, THE DEFIANTS.
Another great riff with cool bass & drums stands in next track ‘I Feel Alive’. The keyboards are perfectly placed, reminiscent of W.E.T., BONFIRE, or CASANOVA. The chorus has Mårtensson’s signature commercial sound, and amidst the immense intensity emerges a killer guitar solo.
The vocals are rougher and raw in ‘Stand Up’, sung like mix of Dee Snider’s strong character and Kane Roberts’ personality. The melodies explodes like a whirlwind in a song with a ferocious ending. Those type of GIANT-esque guitar chords pave the way for the classy AOR on ‘Into Oblivion’. With its polished vocals, the result is a wonderful track with a late ’80s WHITE LION sound, expertly crafted with clean verses and a harmonized chorus.
All over the record the guitars and rhythm section sound classic and defined. The solo parts are one of the stronger parts of the CD, along with the upbeat melodic / festive energy, and the vocals delivering a distinct flair.
On ‘Ready to Fly’ the two guitarists share the workload and blends seamlessly with the technique and elegance the song demands. Then ‘Change’ go for a more direct riff and rock n’ roll, a bit repetitive however stadium-ready.
One of the cool things of ROCKETT LOVE is their switch of dynamics between songs – they pull from the depths of their soul another midtempo melodic number on the LEPPARD-esque ‘I (Make It Real Tonight)’, 1987 reminiscent.
They close the CD with “Get Out Of My Face”, a killer melodic hard track showcasing the Swedes’ personality and genuine musical mayhem. The offbeat percussion injects that tasty and rebellious Nordic sleazy edge to conquer the world.
Pride & Joy Records have some great bands on their label and ROCKETT LOVE is among the best. “Wired For Sound” is top quality Melodic Hard Rock strongly ’80s impregnated yet updated with a modern crisp sound
