To be released tomorrow, the “Nimrods Original Soundtrack” features your favorite career-spanning GREEN DAY songs plus the brand new song “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P”, and four unreleased live GREEN DAY songs. The 2-CD soundtrack also features songs from The Paradox, Ultra Q, and Mckenna Grace plus four tracks from Analog Dogs, the fictitious band “Nimrods” centers around.
Inspired by Green Day’s early touring days—and the title of their 1997 album—’Nimrods’ is a movie that follows a young band on a road trip from Kansas City to Los Angeles in their quest to open for, well, GREEN DAY.
Most of the platinum pop-punk trio’s major hits are present and accounted for, along with four previously unreleased live tracks from a 2025 show at the Palladium in Los Angeles that was shot specifically for the film. The biggest surprise is the new studio track “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.”, which channels Elvis Presley’s 1957 smash “Jailhouse Rock”.
Far from being a favorite band of this website, there are countless GREEN DAY fans out there, and ”Nimrods Original Soundtrack” is a joy for all of them.
