As requested, here’s the quite unknown Escape Music release “Crash And Burn“, the album recorded by American AOR-Progressive act ARIES in 2001.
Musically ARIES is bringing back original late ’70s Midwestern Pomp-rock and sounds like the perfect mix between STYX, KANSAS and REO Speedwagon. Especially the second part of the band’s debut album is sounding like those classic rock bands that introduced AOR with a touch of Progressive melodic heavy rock such as ROADMASTER, Le ROUX, HYBRID ICE, etc. Some tunes have a FM radio friendly sound too.

However, ARIES also has influences from URIAH HEEP, which can be heard on the first couple of tracks; ‘April Reign’ and title track ‘Crash And Burn’ are nice progressive melodic hard rockers with a Heep feeling.
“Crash And Burn” is a damn good ’70s typed Pomp rock LP that can easily be mentioned along the top American bands in this genre – there are songs of substance with delicious intertwining of guitar and lush keys all over.
