This is a wonderful post: the great OZZY OSBOURNE show at the legendary 1983 US Festival. This is the “US Festival ’83 The Complete Soundboard” CD released by excellent Japanese bootleg label Zodiac, featuring the complete set-list remastered.
There has been many bootlegs from this show from varied sources: Audience, FM broadcast, and Audience mixed with the FM broadcast. But this is taken from the actual soundboard, and sound quality is great!
The 1983 edition of the US Festival, celebrated in the memorial weekend on May 28, 29 & 30, consisted of a pop-rock day, a heavy metal day, and a new wave day. The second day changed the musical landscape forever: 1983-05-29 was the historic day heavy metal killed new wave! It was the starting point of metal / hard rock mainstream dominance, cementing the transition of heavy metal dominating the festival circuit.

OZZY OSBOURNE and his band were not the main attraction of the day, but this show established Ozzy as a powerhouse solo headliner, and the beginning of his stardom in America, and world-wide.
It was a trial by fire too: the debut of guitarist Jake E. Lee, under immense pressure to fill the shoes of the late Randy Rhoads. But Lee, and the awesome band consisting of Bob Daisley, Tommy Aldridge, and Don Airey delivered a sharp, well-received performance.
Blasted through solo staples like “Crazy Train”, “Over the Mountain”, “Flying High Again”, Mr. Crowley” and Black Sabbath classics (Bark At The Moon was not released yet), this show rock hard!
“OZZY OSBOURNE – US Festival ’83 The Complete Soundboard” is the best version you’ll hear of this historic performance.
