JUDAS PRIEST – Sad Wings Of Destiny [50th Anniversary Remixed & Remastered] (2026) *HQ*

JUDAS PRIEST’s landmark 1976 album ‘Sad Wings Of Destiny‘ celebrates its 50th anniversary with a new 2026 Remixed & Remastered edition. Produced by longtime Judas Priest producer Tom Allom, the album has been newly remixed from the original 1976 analogue multi-track master tapes, bringing fresh clarity, depth, and separation to one of heavy metal’s most influential recordings.
The project was meticulously restored at British Grove Studios in London, with the original multi-track reels transferred and preserved for the new mixes. The new edition restores the band’s original running order, beginning with “Prelude,” features as bonus track the Priest classic “Diamonds & Rust,” and is presented in a modern digipak design.
This anticipated release continues the celebration of the 50th anniversary and offers fans a definitive new way to experience ”Sad Wings Of Destiny” while remaining faithful to Judas Priest’s original vision.

Featuring Rob Halford (vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitar), K.K. Downing (guitar), Ian Hill (bass) and Alan Moore (drums),”Sad Wings Of Destiny” was a bold, dark, and ambitious statement that would help define heavy metal and featured future metal classics such as “Victim Of Changes” and “The Ripper” — songs that JUDAS PRIEST performed live during their 2026 “Faithkeepers” summer tour.

“Sad Wings Of Destiny Remixed & Remastered” features a newly created mix from the original multitrack recordings, produced by Tom Allom, mixed by Luie Stylianou and mastered by Matt Colton — the same team behind the excellent “Remixed & Remastered” edition of “Rocka Rolla”.
The release will be available as a 45 RPM, 180g Double LP on black vinyl, mastered at half-speed for a true audiophile experience. The CD is presented in a modern digipak design. Both physical editions contain a newly remixed version of the 1976 recording of “Diamonds And Rust” as a bonus track.
