AT THE MOVIES – Scandinavian Stars Covering Famous ’80s Soundtracks [CD version +1] (2020)

The AT THE MOVIES project – launched by Pretty Maids guitarist Chris Laney due to the COVID-19 lockdown – caught fire over the last several months, with many fans asking that the ’80s soundtrack covers be made available on CD and vinyl.
Well, the album will be released on both formats with complete artwork, and including as bonus track their version of ‘Far From Over’ taken from the 1983 soundtrack, Staying Alive, (Frank Stallone / Vince DiCola).

Confined to their homes under quarantine like the rest of us, this group of Scandinavian metal and hard rock musicians decided to put their idle time to good use with a new project called AT THE MOVIES, which is devoted to covering music from the iconic films of yesteryear.

The project was created by renowned Scandinavian producer Chris Laney and drummer Allan Sørensen (Royal Hunt, Pretty Maids) and feature different collaborators on each new tune, such as “No Easy Way Out” (Robert Tepper’s for Rocky IV), “St. Elmo’s Fire” (originally written and performed by John Parr), “Maniac” (from Flashdance) and many more.
