Before drummer Troy Luccketta joined TESLA and guitarist Kevin Carlson played & recorded for ALDO NOVA, they were in a band which wrote and record 2 songs – ‘Lipstick And Leather”, and “Do You Know” – that the band Y&T would remake just a few years later on their album “In Rock We Trust”.
If Luccketta wasn’t snatched away to join The Eric Martin Band, BENNIE AND THE JETS would have made it huge. Unfortunately, fate had other plans and the original album “Lipstick And Leather” was shelved for 4 decades.
Now “Lipstick And Leather”, recorded in 1980, is being released for the first time ever by Metallic Blue Records, fully remastered from the original master tapes with the addition of a bunch of bonus tracks. The songs are still very much hits in their own right and are filled with catchy choruses that will appeal to fans of early ’80s US melodic hard rock.
