As you know, Rock Candy Records is one of the best CD reissue labels out there. Since a couple of years, they are releasing a magazine, actually printed on paper like in the good ‘ol times.
In the style of the essay included into each CD booklet about the band in question, ROCK CANDY MAGAZINE is a bi-monthly, 100-page Rock publication produced and managed by a bunch of specialized British Rock journalists with decades of experience in music and mags, writing for legendary publications including Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Raw.

Simply put, in each issue there’s loads of great features and articles on many great bands and artists from the classic eras of Rock and Metal’s history.
The quality of the featured material is excellent, ranging from reviews, band’s history, recommendations, ‘lost bands’ section, rare tracks, video guide / YouTube hidden gems, and a lot more.

Isuue #4 features a 10-page covering Metallica’s early story plus never seen photos from the era, a juicy Magnum retrospective, their ‘overlooked’ section with 8-page about Triumph, and a “Quaestion & Answer’ with Janet Grardner of Vixen.
Also, a juicy ‘inside story’ of Britny Fox, ‘Rapid Fire Recall’ with Joey Tempest of Europe, ‘My First Gig’ with John Waite, ‘Close Encounters’ section with Mick Mars of Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, Warrant, Thunder’s Luke Morley, and more.

Issue #5 is packed full of the loudest, most colourful and OTT bands of the ’80s. From Cheap Trick to Sabbath, from White Lion to Anthrax, with all new stories about the glory daze of the ’8os and ’9os that rocked our world. These pieces are lavishly illustrated with the very best rock photography from that incredible era.
The main feature is must… a 14-page complete story on Randy Rhoads, a fitting tribute to one of rock’s greatest guitarists on the 35th anniversary of his untimely death.

And also remarkable is the feature of legendary rock photographer Mark ‘Weissguy’ Weiss’s favorite ever shots. Plus, articles with Bob Kulick, Judas Priest, The Cult, Mark Slaughter, Motley Crue ‘Inside Story’, Boston, etc.

Issue #6 is great because the main feature is Van Halen, one of my favorite bands of all time
Over 14 pages Rock Candy brings you an intimate look at the VH line-up that turned the band into a worldwide phenomenon – including an interview with the band’s former manager Noel Monk revealing a lot of thing about Eddie Van Halen & Co.

‘Close encounters’ section with Poison, ‘My First Gig’ with Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, articles with Rush, Jimmy Barnes, ‘Inside Story’ about Deep Purple IV implosion, ‘Questions & Answers’ with Rick Springfield, ‘Rapid Fire Recall’ with Michael Schenker, etc.

All issues include as well a must-check Review section, recommendations, ‘lost bands’ section, rare tracks, video guide / YouTube hidden gems, and a lot more.

Besides the articles that I have mentioned, each issue has loads more interesting material on just about every hard rock or metal act from the Seventies and Eighties that you can remember — along with some that may have slipped your memory!

A couple more reasons that I highly recommend Rock Candy is that it has gorgeous graphic design and layout, and it is also profusely illustrated with fantastic photos of metal merchants back in the day and quite often in the present, as well.
Everything about it screams Rock, true, Rock
A Must Have
