BLACKFOOT – Siogo [Music On CD reissue 2022] HQ

Specialized European label Music On CD has just re-issued BLACKFOOT‘s sixth album, 1983’s “Siogo“, featuring the latest remastering (2006) available. “Siogo” marked a new chapter in Blackfoot impressive career: first, they updated the band’s musical approach according to times in favor to a more commercial rocking style, and second, they incorporated into the line-up unique keyboardist Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep) who added additional texture to their sound.
For “Siogo” the band utilized the services of producer Al Nalli (who also worked for Axe’s excellent LP ‘Nemesis’) so expect a similar bright, polished metallic album sound here. Although not entirely typical for Blackfoot’s Southern Rock sound of the late Seventies, this album is one of the very few which seamlessly combine both the melodic and the energizing sides of hard rock…

BLACKFOOT – Flyin’ High [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] *0dayrox Exclusive*

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy remastered & reloaded reissues to complete collections, and here’s the requested, never posted before BLACKFOOT‘s terrific album “Flyin’ High“.
This is BLACKFOOT second album, and for many their best, because here the band while still melodic, come raw & rockin’, part Lynyrd Skynyrd and part Led Zeppelin, helping to consolidate a style that would later springboard them to international acclaim in the ’80s.
And despite its ‘straight-from-the-amp’ sound, “Flyin’ High” sounds stupendous for a 1976 recording, ahead of its time for this kind of bands. This has been capitalized by Andy Pearce to obtain a big, clean remaster.

BLACKFOOT – Strikes [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Another must have from the Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded series from legends BLACKFOOT is the kicking “Strikes“, the album which make them really popular (Platinum certified) and features their biggest hit ‘Train, Train’.
Blackfoot was the hard rock version of southern rock’s finest bands. Where Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers would take time between rocking out with a ballad, or a blues song or, in the Allmans case, a jazzy number, Blackfoot did nothing but pump out balls-to-the-wall southern fried rock and roll.
And “Strikes” was the first album ever mixing US southern rock with Hard Rock. And it’s a killer…

BLACKFOOT – Highway Song Live (Rock Candy remastered & reloaded)

More from BLACKFOOT classic albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records: here’s the bestial “Highway Song Live“, one of the best live Rock albums ever recorded and a classic in this matter for me.
Some live albums have a special place in our hearts, and “Highway Song Live” are one of those.
The likes of Thin Lizzy, UFO, Kiss, Peter Frampton and a host of others have for one reason or another pretty much earned their reputations based solely on live performance and their respected live album.
It is also true for Blackfoot, one of the hardest working bands of the era, who captured a definitive live set with “Highway Song Live”, a work of sheer perfection and ballsy brilliance.
Issued in 1982, and recorded by the Rolling Stones mobile on Blackfoot’s UK tour of the same year, the excitement and energy of Blackfoot is palpable…

BLACKFOOT – Tomcattin’ [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

As requested more from BLACKFOOT legendary albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records. Let’s go with the essential “Tomcattin”.
For some the road to success is rapid and relatively stress free; sudden popularity achieved by a combination of luck and being in the right place at the right time. For others it’s a slow and fatiguing rise to the top with years spent honing their craft, building up a loyal fan following and eventually penetrating the charts by stealth rather by hype.
For Blackfoot, it was the latter path that provided them with recognition years after they first stepped out on the rocky road to success…

BLACKFOOT – Marauder [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

And here’s more BLACKFOOT legendary albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records. Let’s go with the killer “Marauder“. By this point in their career Jacksonville based Blackfoot were reaping the rewards of over ten years of dedicated work. The band had been on a nonstop treadmill of recording and gigging, carving out a dedicated following in not only the US but also in Europe where their southern star was very much in the ascendancy.
Indeed, the band’s tour with the Scorpions pretty much saw them take all the accolades leaving no doubt as to which of the two groups was the hot ticket.
Scorpions’ Klaus Meine said; “Blackfoot surprised with their incredibly energetic show and quality musicianship. They were better than us on stage”.
