The BLUE DESERT WESTCOAST PROJECT started more than a decade ago when Scandinavian session musicians whom have recorded from artists like Lava’s Egil Eldoen to Andreas Aleman decided to form their own combo. Something similar of what TOTO musicians did at their beginning as a band.
The initial idea was to perform Westcoast AOR classic songs, but also compose their own. Live gigs started and people were asking for the Project originals, and they recorded a couple of singles: their own penned ‘We Gotta Believe’ and a cover of Michael Jackson’s classic ‘Billie Jean’ but re-arranged Westoast-style.
The BLUE DESERT WESTCOAST PROJECT got bigger and legends from the genre like Clif Magness performing lead vocals on some songs, Bruce Gaitsch, Tommy Funderburk, Michael Thompson and more were willing to participate.
We find songs as well written by glorious names, such as ‘Again And Again’ (Janey Clewer), ‘What’s A Man’ (Janey Clewer & Richard Marx), ‘Almost Everything’ (Bruce Gaitsch & Richard Marx), and the project originals.
