BOBBIE DAZZLE – Star Power (2026) HQ *0dayrox Exclusive*

BOBBIE DAZZLE, the catsuit-sporting queen of UK Glam Rock, releases her new album, ”Star Power”, via Rise Above Records next October 2. Bobbie Dazzle (real name Siân Greenaway) is rock ’n’ roll at its brightest, its most colorful, its fullest of almost silly joy. This is a music celebrating the twinkliest bits of glam rock, not of the ’80s metal Sunset Strip variety, but the more British A-road version of the 1970s.
”Star Power” sounds like if SWEET would have continued with the style they had in the late 70s, delivered with a fresh sound of today. And of course with a female vocalist. This is glam combining SLADE’s sparkly top hats and massive shoes, the dreamy poetry of MARC BOLAN, all with DAVID BOWIE’s larger-than-life alien rockstar Ziggy Stardust. While served with an updated production, ”Star Power” is crafted with all the sonic excesses, blinding glamour and charismatic camp of their heroes.
Indeed, if you like SWEET, BOWIE (and weirdly, I don’t), QUEEN or even CATA IN SPACE there is much to enjoy on ”Star Power”. The singles are fantastic especially “Wonder” which initially I didn’t enjoy but it’s a real grower and, this isn’t to damn with faint praise, if there is a better drum sound in 2026 I want to hear it – it’s very reminiscent of Bev Bevan at his peak.
You want guests? ”Star Power” has got ’em. LITA FORD with a fine guitar solo in the last song ”Feel It Too”, which verse has very SWEET-like melodies and same goes for the harmony vocals. Also PENDULUM’s Gareth McGrillen (co-wrote and plays bass on ”Snakes And Ladders”) turn up, but the real star is Siân Greenaway herself.
Apparently, she’s suffered online criticism for her use of flute on her records. You know what? She doesn’t give a flying f@ck and nor should because she has a knack of writing and developing hooks which stay in the brain for a long time – THE WHO-ish “Jack Rabbit” being a case in point.
”Star Power” is much, much more than the sum of its influences to which we could add the mighty ANGEL. It’s an album full of attitude, great tunes, great playing and great fun. This album is a runner-up for my Top 40 of 2026…
