Now here’s in exclusive on 0dayrox a new 2026 installment from the BUFFALO ROCK CITY / KISS THIS! project: “ALIVE! at the Loft / Unplugged at War Cannon Spirits Distillery“.
This time it’s a tribute to the KISS album ‘MTV Unplugged’, with the guys delivering acoustic versions of the band’s classics, at places with a little electricity too.
This is a limited edition release, part of the Buffalo Rock City series, however, ‘Unplugged at War Cannon Spirits Distillery’ is the first ever full length album by KISS THIS!, the cover band who created and continues to spearhead the “Buffalo Rock City” KISS tribute album series. The previous volumes had contributions of many musicians from the Western New York rock scene – “Unplugged” is just the KISS THIS! 4-piece tribute band.
This album was recorded on March 22nd, 2024, at “the Loft,” inside of the War Cannon Spirits distillery in Crown Point, New York, in front of a small audience.
“ALIVE! at the Loft / Unplugged at War Cannon Spirits Distillery” features 12 KISS classic songs, stripped down and unplugged. There are 5 songs that were performed in the ”KISS MTV Unplugged” set list – however, the remaining 7 songs never have been recorded / released professionally by KISS in acoustic versions. It’s really cool to hear how KISS THIS! re-imagined songs like Cold Gin, Strutter, Love Gun, etc, with acoustic instruments / arrangements…

BUFFALO ROCK CITY (Western New York’s Tribute To KISS) – Solo Obsession *HQ* *Exclusive*

And here’s in exclusive more from the impressive BUFFALO ROCK CITY combo KISS THIS! / Tribute to KISS. On this hard to find volume titled “Solo Obsession” they cover songs from Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter 1978 Solo albums. Two songs were selected from each of the 1978 “KISS” solo albums, plus one song from each member’s post KISS solo records to cover.
While the first “Buffalo Rock City” album and “Buffalo Rock City II” both featured recordings of songs done by the co-writers of the tracks they helped create (Mitch Weissman singing “While the City Sleeps” and Jean Beauvoir singing “Who Wants to Be Lonely”), “Solo Obsession” producers John Jeffrey, Dave Comer & John Peace decided in addition to working with other great Western New York musicians, they wanted to push the envelope once again, and this time, actually recruit original performers who had played on some of the original tracks, to recreate their parts for “Solo Obsession.”
The list of musicians featured on “Solo Obsession” who played on the original recordings consist of: Brad Fernquist (lead guitarist from the Goo Goo Dolls) – who played all guitars on “All About You” (originally from Paul Stanley’s 2006 solo album “Live To Win”), Mitch Weissman (Beatlemania) recreated his originally harmony vocals on “Mr. Make Believe” (from Gene Simmons 1978 “KISS” solo album), and Tod Howarth (Frehley’s Comet) added all of his signature vocals he originally did on “Insane” (from the 1988 Frehley’s Comet album “Second Sighting”), which was also done in tribute to the passing of Howarth’s good friend, bassist John Regan (Frehley’s Comet/Peter Frampton).
While the producers were unsuccessful in getting legendary guitarist Steve Lukather to play on the 2 great Peter Criss songs he originally performed on (“Hooked On Rock ‘N’ Roll” from Peter’s 1978 “KISS” solo release, and “Let It Go” from 1982’s “Let Me Rock You”), they were able to get the next best thing from guitarist / producer Tommy Denander.
The icing on the cake for “Solo Obsession” is the addition of legendary metal singer Tim “Ripper” Owens…

BUFFALO ROCK CITY (Western New York’s Tribute To KISS) Vol. 2 ft. Jeff Scott Soto, Johnny Gioeli, Jean Beauvoir, John Corabi, Deen Castronovo *HQ / Exclusive*

Lifelong KISS fan and famed tribute act KISS THIS! founder/guitarist John Jeffrey began the project BUFFALO ROCK CITY (Western New York’s Tribute To KISS) a decade ago, to record KISS songs and release them on CD / vinyl for benefit purposes.
The band perform a full KISS tribute show (with makeup and costumes) under the guise of KISS THIS!, bring all of theatrics and bombast of a classic KISS show to fans all around the country. And they are professional terrific musicians.
“BUFFALO ROCK CITY II” is the sequel to the first “Buffalo Rock City,” perhaps the best KISS tribute album ever made. Lifelong KISS fan and KISS THIS! founder/guitarist, John Jeffrey, has, once again, assembled a who’s who of artists, largely representing the Western New York music scene.
Among the artists on “Volume II” are Johnny Gioeli (vocals), Jean Beauvoir (vocals), Lillian Axe’s Steve Blaze (vocals), John Corabi (vocals), Deen Castronovo (drums/vocals), guitarists Rafael Moreira (from melodic rockers Soul Station), Tommy Denander, and Howie Simon (Winger, Talisman), and many more.
The record also features a non-KISS song but by another Western New York’s musician: Billy Sheehan, wrote the song ‘Love For Sale’ for his band Talas. Sheehan play bass, and guess who’s on lead vocals: the mighty Jeff Scott Soto.
If ”Volume I” was a very good album, wait to hear “BUFFALO ROCK CITY II”.
HIGHLY Recommended

BUFFALO ROCK CITY (Western New York’s Tribute To KISS) Vol. 1 ft. Deen Castronovo, Bumblefoot, Denander, Ace Frehley Band members *HQ / Exclusive*

The band perform a full KISS tribute show (with makeup and costumes) under the guise of KISS THIS! – The Starchild, Kevin Blakita – lead guitar/vocals, The Space Ace, John Jeffrey – lead guitar/vocals, The Catman, Billy Eberts – drums/vocals, and the Demon, Taylor Stursa – bass/vocals; bring all of theatrics and bombast of a classic KISS show to fans all around the country. And they are professional terrific musicians.
For the recordings they invite many other musicians representing the Western New York music scene, but also renowned artists that in one way or another have been involved with KISS, such as Tommy Denander (Paul Stanley Band), Jean Beauvoir (co-writer for KISS), Jeremy Asbrock & Ryan Spencer Cook (Ace Frehley Band), Philip Shouse (Ace Frehley Band, also Accept).
Additionally, KISS THIS! has many connections and friends from the scene and on the BUFFALO ROCK CITY we find the likes of John Corabi (Motley Crue, Dead Daisies), Deen Castronovo (Journey, The Dead Daisies), Bumblefoot (Sons of Apollo, Asia), Jeff Scott Soto (W.E.T), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big), Steve Blaze (Lillian Axe) and more.
This first BUFFALO ROCK CITY album was recorded for a homeless charity foundation. Then, the set covers KISS songs about hard living. Members of KISS THIS! deliver epic power chords on “Detroit Rock City,” while the Goo Goo Dolls’ Robby Takac brings vocal rasp to “Hard Luck Woman”, an awesome version.
Then Bumblefoot chooses tasty pentatonic licks over shred for “Black Diamond”, with great lead vocals by Deen Castronovo. And we hear a really good version of Vinnie Vincent Invasion’s ‘Back on the Streets’ sung by Nat Peace, from Call For The Priest band.
BUFFALO ROCK CITY / KISS THIS! are awesome, believe us, and production is first rate.
