Finnish bassist and composer MARKO PUKKILA wrote songs and recorded on over 40 albums, a musician with over 20 years of experience and member of classic hard rockers Stargazery, and melodic metal / progressive acts Shadow Tribe and Altaria. With the help of international legends from the genre he released a covers album a couple years ago doing fresh versions of ’80s classic songs.
Now he’s releasing MARKO PUKKILA with Friends ”Kiss My Covers II”, the second installment of the project again covering timeless songs like ‘Tarot Woman’ (Rainbow), ‘He’s Back’ (Alice Cooper), ‘Too Young To Fall In Love’ (Mötley Crue), etc, but this time recuiting Finnish-only musicians.
Including current or former members from bands like AORsters One Desire, Hanoi Rocks, Tarot, Stratovarius, Thunderstone, etc. This is really interesting, because this time the players aren’t legends from the ’80s scene, and they show up a different perspective to these songs.
And they rock with style, from Twisted Sister’s ‘The Price’ (ex-Princess Pang vocalist Jay Lewis is awesome here) or ‘Send Me An Angel’ (Blackfoot) to more metallic tunes like Judas Priest’s ‘Metal Gods’ (love this one) or ‘Soldiers Under Command’ (Stryper)…

MARKO PUKKILA is a Finnish bassist and composer proud of over forty albums and is part of great bands such as Stargazery, Shadow Tribe and Altaria, all acts revolving from Classic Rock to Hard Rock / Metal. But he’s also a musician with many connections, not only from the current European and American scene, but also legends from the genre.
As big fan of the Seventies & Eighties, years ago Marko assembled a classic covers band and asked big names to collaborate with the project. All over five years he recorded classic tunes of Dokken, Mötley Crüe, Vinnie Vincent, KISS, Ozz , etc with the collaboration of Keri Kelli (Vince Neil, John Waite), Erik Turner (Warrant), Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot), Vinny Appice, Seann Nicols (Quiet Riot), Ryan Roxie (A. Cooper), Rowan Robertson (Dio) and many more.
