BILLY MORRISON – Hollow (2026) *HQ*

Billy Idol’s rhythm guitarist BILLY MORRISON has built a successful solo career as well, scoring hits on the U.S. mainstream rock charts with Ozzy Osbourne on “Crack Cocaine” and again with Ozzy and Steve Stevens on “Gods of Rock n Roll.”
BILLY MORRISON’s upcoming new solo album “Hollow” has 12 songs, half sung by Morrison and half sung by a handful of Morrison’s friends. Guests include Sully Erna (Godsmack) on vocals, Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Billy Idol’s other killer axe man Steve Stevens, Marilyn Manson, The Offspring’s Dexter Holland, and more.
The record kicks off with the sonically explosive and lyrically gripping title track, a riff-heavy highlight capped by a blistering solo—easily one of the album’s standouts. Next there’s Becoming, featuring Godsmack’s Sully Erna on vocals and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt. It’s a sharp modern rocker loaded with guitar heft.
For a change of pace, Duff McKagan brings a touch of country to Leave No Trace. While stylistically different, its strength earns it a rightful place on the record…

CROSSFIRE – A Salute To Stevie Ray + rare Japan Edition Bonus Track feat. John Sykes (1996) *HQ*

We featured yesterday a remarkable tribute to the unforgettable Stevie Ray Vaughan as part of the L.A. Authority series. But another outstanding homage to the Texan guitarist appeared later: ”CROSSFIRE – A Salute to Stevie Ray”.
This release showcases top‑class guitarists delivering some truly inspired leads. Unlike the L.A. Authority album, where each lead guitarist also handled vocals, CROSSFIRE features a stable backing band anchored by drummer Jay Schellen (Unruly Child), all under the direction and production of the highly capable Billy Sherwood.
Issued as a guitar-driven homage gathering prominent Rock six-string masters there’s the incredible Steve Stevens, Trevor Rabin, Steve Morse, Doug Aldrich, Richie Kotzen, and the late John Sykes, among others.
But the Japanese CD edition of CROSSFIRE includes as bonus track another John Sykes rare performance: lead guitar on the cover of ‘Love Struck Baby’. It’s a shame this track was never released worldwide or later included on any other disc, as it’s truly a must‑have for any John Sykes fan!

STEVE STEVENS ATOMIC PLAYBOYS +2 [Rock Candy Remastered]

STEVE STEVENS, one of my favorite guitar players of all time, gets his first album with the “Atomic Playboys” reissued and remastered by Rock Candy Records. This, together with the one Stevens did with Vince Neil, are without a doubt among the best guitar-driven hard rock albums ever recorded.
Steve Stevens reputation was so high in the mid-to-late eighties (‘the guitar power behind Billy Idol’ and Top Gun soundtrack) that the debut solo album from the six-stringer with hair as impressive as his playing was littered with top class names from the music business.

RADIATION ROMEOS – Radiation Romeos (retail CD)

Signed & released by Frontiers Music, the self-titled debut from RADIATION ROMEOS is the new band formed by amazing singer Parramore McCarty, best known for being the frontman of such legendary US metal acts Warrior and famed Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens’ solo project, Atomic Playboys.
In fact, the inspiration for the name Radiation Romeos came from a line in the song ‘Atomic Playboys’.
Parramore McCarty’s career in music started when Robbin Crosby of Ratt gave him his start singing in cover bands. His first major label album was ‘Fighting For the Earth’ on Virgin Records in 1985 for the legendary US metal band Warrior.
The terrific Steve Stevens’ Atomic Playboys album followed in 1989 on Warner Bros, then McCarty returned…
