Swedish / Canadian combo KILLER BEE released 3 albums during the nineties, toured all over Europe and shared stages with the biggest artists at some of the biggest festivals. Unfortunately, destiny intervened: management disputes and production company rip-offs left the band with a bitter taste in their mouths.
After 15 years Killer Bee refueled the engines and returned in 2012 with a great album, and the following year with another even better, both featured here at 0dayrox.
Now Killer Bee proudly announce the release of the album “Rock Another Day” as an introduction of the band in the US prior to their 5 week Tour all over the States, from East To West.

Yes, Killer Bee is touring America in the old-fashioned way: playing on every venue available from Florida to California, on some as main act, on others together with Dokken.
But there’s great news from band too; British Paul Chapman, the legendary UFO member has joined Killer Bee on the road as lead guitarist.
“Rock Another Day” includes 14 tracks from Killer Bee’s two previous albums, chosen by journalists, producers, friends and musicians all independently, taken what their consider the best material from the band to be presented in America.
44 Rock Radio stations across the US has already added the album to their playlists, with some cuts going strong in classic rock charts.

If you never heard Killer Bee before, “Rock Another Day” is the prefect start.
Musically, these guys combine traditional hard rock sounds – bluesy and hard rocking – but coated with just enough sleazy / hair metal to give their songs an extra bite with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure.
At times, they sound like Helix, yet with a typical European touch.
Opener “Children Of The Evolution” is a really great composition with a big essence and midpaced epicness, but the kind of song you usually use to close an album. So bravo to them, as they do what they want, with authority.
In contrast to the former, regarding sound and structure, “A Little Too Old” is more than Glam Metal meets Hard Rock ’80s to mid ’90s with a profound guitar sound along with the vocals pushing it hard.

KILLER BEE - Rock Another Day (2015) inside

Despite a straightforward production job where nothing is too showy, the element that stands out the most from this album is singer Brian Frank. Whether he’s soaring at places, snarling down on “Scream It” or pulling off a punchy hair metal chorus on “I’m On Fire”, he’s one talented mofo who befits this skilled band immensely.
There’s rip-roaring rockers like “Ride On” or “A Little Too Old” interspersed with more melodic (hard) rock numbers like mid-tempo “Step Into My World” or “Heat Of The Night”.
Then, “All The Things You Say” is a ballad, yet not in the traditional way for this type of bands; not power ballad by classic rock fueled by bluesy arrangements and Hammond B3 in the background.

Killer Bee is an effective and entertaining rocking band expanding its taste and musical creativity towards all hard rock related genres – and it really works as whole.
The song material is solid, varied, and really well performed by all involved, but for me it’s singer Brian Frank who really makes the difference with his great trademark hard rock vocal inflections, harmonies and at times raspy delivery.
This album is prime example to others in the scene on not only how to do hard rock with flair and substance, but how to have fun while doing it.
If you live in the US, catch Killer Bee on tour now. They Rock.
