HERE

One of the most busy vocalists in the hard rock scene is without a doubt German Carsten ‘Lizard’ Schulz, lending his voice to numerous band’s recordings such as LaValle, Rik Priem’s Prime, Frozen Rain and many others. Now it’s time for his solo album “The Day The Earth Stopped Turning” under the moniker CARSTEN LIZARD SCHULZ SYNDICATE to be released soon.

And this is a true ‘Syndicate’: “The Day The Earth Stopped Turning” features – apart from Schulz’s congenial partner Steffen Seeger – with the participation of dozens of well-known artists from the last four decades such as Axel Rudi Pell, Mat Sinner, Neil Murray, Alessandro Del Vecchio, Erik Norlander and lots of others (check below).
The album took many years to complete – on the one hand for reasons of time, to the other hand to present the best possible and identifiable result. As a die-hard fan of the good old ’70s / ’80s, Carsten’s clear intention was to create an adult and classical hard rock album with the special old-school flair.

Indeed, “The Day The Earth Stopped Turning” is a classic hard rock album that seeks of his peers in the current world of music and which is much more than a tribute to the good old days.
A man, his friends and their mission give us an over 80 minutes lasting listening pleasure through some soaring vocals, hot riffs, Hammond B3 runs and groovy choruses.
Carsten has all the vocal chops from the classic era of the genre, but also is a darn fine songwriter. You can listen the works out of his pen on albums by Russell Allen, Mat Sinner, Vengeance, Gary Barden, etc. , and here has delivered some fine hard rockers plenty of melody.

The Carsten Lizard Schulz Syndicate rocks, and despite the various session musicians and different recording stages, all sound cohesive: strong songs, very good vocal performance and a fine production.
It’s all classic stuff, but definitely no reheated brew, this is how straight classic hard rock should sound today.
Strongly Recommended.
