JADED HEART – Guilty By Design [Limited Edition Digipak +2] (2016)

Tomorrow April 22 is the day for the new JADED HEART disc “Guilty By Design“, which in this Limited Edition Digipak features two bonus tracks.
The story of this German (now with Swedes in the linup) band is well-known to the fans of the genre. Jaded Heart since their creation achieved to build a strong reputation around their name with many strong albums. With their first singer, Michael Bormann, they made an impact into the Rock scene.

When Bormann decided to take separate ways for many projects/solo career, Jaded Heart replaced him with Johan Fahlberg. With a new singer and a more hard n’ heavy direction, the band released five solid efforts getting better with each.
“Guilty By Design” is mixed and mastered by Erik Martensson (Eclipse, W.E.T., Nordic Union), so expect a massive sound.

“No Reason” that opens the new record is a true hymn. In-your-face and heavy, melodic and powerful the track comes to shake your world for good.
“Godforsaken”, “Seven Gates Of Hell” and “Remembering” are all three superb samples of pure and catchy head-banger stuff that includes memorable hooks and choruses, great arrangements and tight performances.
At this point, I have to say that the work of Erik Martensson can be heard from my miles away…

More highlights include the up-tempo crusher “Torn And Scarred”, the band’s heaviest song to date “Salvation”, the epic “This Is The End”, and the driving number “So Help Me God”, among many others.
The digipak has two bonus cuts which are the soaring, melodic “My Farewell” and the take no prisoner “My Own Way Down”.

For sure, “Guilty By Design” is one of the strongest efforts in Jaded Heart’s career.
Solid songwriting, inspired performances and a slick, huge production, many times recalling Martensson’s Eclipse.
Spinning “Guilty By Design” you have the sensation to be listening true, unadulterated European Hard Rock. Or call it Hard n’ Heavy, as the edge – but polished and melodic – is present all over it.
