After keeping the melodic hard rock flame alive during the ’90s with 3 albums, Swedish / Canadian combo KILLER BEE returned four years ago with a really good album. Another strong one followed, and now they are giving the final touches to the new CD to released in September.
Now the band are presenting as a teaser “Killing You Softly“, a compilation of their best recent songs, some remixed plus a brand new track produced by talented Kee Marcello (ex Europe).

“Killing You Softly” serves as an introduction to the band in several markets, and it is oriented to radio stations to promote Killer Bee’s best songs. Of, course, “Killing You Softly” it will be on sale as well at major retailers since tomorrow, June 3.
The first track / single to be aired it’s the brand new recording ‘I’d Love To Change The World’, a cover of the band Ten Years After done with the Killer Bee touch. It’s a very good take with a classic hard rock feeling.
Also, it’s the presentation into the lineup of legendary British guitarist Paul Chapman (ex UFO / Lone Star), turning Killer Bee and even more ‘international musicians band’.

Later this summer the single ‘If We Die Tomorrow’ will be released followed by a video, an acoustically filled tune that takes you right back to the power ballad era without being particularly reminiscent of any specific band.
And there will be more; songs such as the touchy ‘I Believe’, and the slow rocker with some Helix on it called ‘All The Things You Say’ will also be in the campaign – and all this is happening before the scheduled release of the brand new album Eye In The Sky on September 16.
Other solid tracks featured here include the strong midtempo ‘Hey Hey’ (akin Gotthard), the AORish ‘Everything Everytime’, ‘Heat Of The Night’ and the bouncy rocker ‘All Night Long’

KILLER BEE - Killing You Softly (2016) inside

While the band have chosen their most commercial material to be included here and, hence, there’s several ballads, all is high quality stuff, varied and entertaining.
Killer Bee know for sure how to create hot and catchy riffs, but for me it’s singer Brian Frank who really gives the band its identity with his cool vocal inflections, harmonies and at times raspy delivery.
Very Recommended.
