TOWER CITY – All Or Nothing (own CD)

TOWER CITY - All Or Nothing (own CD) full
HERE

And here’s the second and final TOWER CITY album under this moniker. “All Or Nothing” is as impressive as the band’s debut, again with talented Mike Slamer involved. The CD has become pretty hard to find, and here’s some dubious rips floating the web, so here’s our own discs full with art.

It was hard for a Melodic Rock band at the second half of the ’90s. even more in America.
Ohio based TOWER CITY struggled to get their music published, and needed the help of a German record label fo it. For this, their second album they faced even more trouble: while recording “All Or Nothing” the studio facility caught fire.
They didn’t give up, and while on a couple of tracks here you can hear some production issues, they sent the tapes to Europe anyway to meet the label’s deadline and get the album released.

“All Or Nothing” is much more mature than TOWER CITY’s debut, and in a good way. While the first album was more AOR / elegant in terms of sound, this second disc is more rocking, direct.
What hasn’t changed is the band’s talent to write some awesome songs.

Again there’s Mike Slamer involved in arrangements and songwriting on terrific numbers such as “Two Sides of Love”, “Fire with Fire” & “I Won’t Surrender” – the latter two are also featured on Steelhouse Lane’s debut album ‘Metallic Blue’.
‘Hungry’ is another personal favorite, the best song Def Leppard never wrote in the ’90s, including harmonies / backing vocals in the vein of Johnny Lima or early Bon Jovi.

Forget the horrible album cover; htat is the only bad thing on “All Or Nothing”. This CD is packed with killer melodic (hard) rock songs, great musicianship, pristine vocals / harmonies and catchy hooks.
TOWER CITY kept the genre’s flame alive during the dark years for melodious rock, so thanks guys for this marvelous “All Or Nothing”

    Thanks for this great album.
All Tower City/Colorvine albums are welcome additions!
However, the song “All Or Nothing” sounds very distorted. Was this song pressed that way?
