EUPHORIA [Outloud member / female AOR] – Euphoria (2020)

EUPHORIA is a new duo formed by melodic rockers Outloud (AOR Heaven / Frontiers) guitarist Tony Kash and vocalist Chrisanthi, releasing their self-titled debut with songs taking inspiration from classic ’80s female-fronted AOR.
Think the songwriting style of Robin & Judith Randall, whom have been responsible for some of AOR’s most memorable songs. There’s bombastic and anthemic choruses, sweet melodies, keyboard runs, and of course a polished guitar work, and Kash is not afraid to add some melodic hard rock edge to some songs.

Vocalist Chrisanthi and guitarist Tony Kash combined their songwriting to create Euphoria, a celebration of 80s AOR / melodic rock with a modern sound. “Euphoria” is classy stuff, fitted for all who crave for drive-in guitars, synths and vocal melodies charged in optimism and energy.
Both musicians born in New York, but they met half way across the world in Athens, Greece.

Tony Kash has 2 albums and an EP with Outloud released by Frontiers Records and AOR Heaven, while Chrisanthi has written melodies and lyrics for artists in Greece in the rock&pop and dance music scene.
But it is Chrisanthi’s influences in classic rock – when mix with Tony’s melodic hard rock style, forms an intense ‘euphoric’ blend.

Opener ‘Higher’ is riff driven and quite rocking, and it’s on track #2 where classic Eighties influenced AOR appears via lush keys, sweet refrains and the chatchy chorus.
‘Heaven’s a Breath Away’ adds a little more modern melodic hard rock touches, then ‘Bitter & Wise’,’Whisper a Prayer’ and ‘Survivors’ again brings to mind that type of female fronted AOR so ’80s.
Closer ‘Victims of Circumstance’ rocks harder, and at the last part Tony even adds a metallic riffage.

The music “Euphoria” recalls the great era when melodies ruled and female fronted AOR / melodic rock acts such as such as Marcie Free, Annica, Venus And Mars, Diana DeWitt, etc delivered some lovely tunes.
