GREEN KING – Hidden Beyond Time (2022)

”Hidden Beyond Time” is the debut album by Finnish traditional metal group GREEN KING, a 34-minute long experience that showcases the dynamic nature of this four piece. Inspired by the many subgenres of heavy music, ”Hidden Beyond Time” moves from hard hitting cuts fueled by chugging, galloping riffs that brings to mind the great metal era of the 70/80s to more mellow, experimental tracks featuring folk inspired melodies.
While GREEN KING has many influences, the core of their sound is the early ’80s. Indeed, ”Hidden Beyond Time” encourages you to Travel Back In Time, to the NWOBHM – in a good way. Think the first Iron Maiden fronted by Di’Anno.
It’s all expertly done, all great fun, and, as a long-playing calling card, introduces a quality band that obviously have a grasp of several genres while strongly suggesting there is much more still to come.
