HERE

The Moody Blues singer / bassist JOHN LODGE is ready to release soon a new solo album to coincide with the launch of The Royal Affair Tour, a new North American trek that also features Yes, Asia and Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy. Titled “B Yond : The Very Best Of“, the CD features three new recordings, two new remixes, and other tracks chosen by John as he revisits the very best of his career with the Moody Blues and his solo work, all freshly remastered.
While the cover artwork designed by legendary Roger Dean in his classic style brings to mind Yes, the music packed here is more driving, similar to Asia if you will.

“Street Café” is one of three older songs that Lodge re-recorded for the album, released as a single in 1980 and appeared as a bonus track of the 1987 reissue of Natural Avenue.
‘B Yond’ also feature re-recordings of Moody Blues tunes ‘(Evening) Time To Get Away’ and ‘Legend Of A Mind’, which he recorded with the 10,000 Light Years Band, along with remixes and other tracks from Lodge’s career, with The Moody Blues and his solo work.
The songs were co-produced by John and Alan Hewitt, and feature Lodge on his original Fender Precision Bass on which he recorded all of the classic Moody Blues songs.

The retrospective also features new remixes of two other songs from Natural Avenue — “Say You Love Me” and the sweet proggy “Summer Breeze, Summer Song” — as well as selections from Lodge’s 2015 studio album, 10,000 Light Years Ago, and his 2017 concert album, Live from Birmingham.
Among the live tunes are renditions of the classic Moody Blues songs “I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band),” (great version,) “Gemini Dream,” “Isn’t Life Strange” and “Ride My See-Saw.”

Also remarkable is the remastered version of “In My Mind (2019 – Remaster)” which sound incredible now, and worth this album alone. It’s a fantastic commercial progressive song akin Gilmour / Floyd 1987 album a Momentary Lapse Of Reason.

“With this album I want to share with you my ‘deep cuts’, songs that I have wanted to revisit, and songs which have become an important part of my life,” Lodge says of “B Yond”.
With status of The Moody Blues seemingly uncertain, and at best, being on hiatus, it’s fortunate to find bassist John Lodge far from willing to sit still.
“B Yond : The Very Best Of” is a greatly enjoyable, easy listening melodic progressive album. With most these songs being performed now ‘The Royal Affair Tour’, one can see with the tour is one of the most successful this summer.
