RAINBOW - Taffs And Toffs [Live 1983 w/ Joe Lynn Turner] (2020) *EXCLUSIVE* full

Live recordings of RAINBOW last ’80s era with Joe Lynn Turner are quite rare. There’s few bootlegs, but none with the very good sound quality of this titled “Taffs And Toffs”, a reall well done silver pressed CD.
This is stunning radio broadcast was captured at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, Wales, 14th September 1983, and Rainbow is on fire here. Blackmore rocks of course, Joe Lynn Turner is on top form, and David Rosenthal’d keyboards / synths are huge in this live setting.
The recording was originally pressed on LP vinyl for radio station promotion only, so expect fine quality all over
This is the best Rainbow ‘Bent Out Of Shape tour’ recording you can get.

In August 1983 the band released their seventh studio album, ‘Bent Out Of Shape’, their most radio-friendly ever with a melodic rock / AOR feeling.
Howard Johnson of Kerrang! magazine praised the album as, “possibly Rainbow’s most complete work to date”, and called ‘Desperate Heart’ and ‘Street of Dreams’ “two of this year’s finest tunes”.

In the wake of the record’s release, Rainbow went out on the road and performed one of their finest shows ever at Cardiff s St. David s Hall on 14th September 83, where they put on a stunning show that remains a fan favourite to this day.
Recorded for live FM radio broadcast, the full concert is now available for the first time here on CD.

It’s great to have some of the better early 80s Rainbow tracks in a live setting such as ‘Drinkin’ with the Devil’, ‘Stranded’, ‘Death Alley Driver’, etc.
Joe’s rendition of “Catch the Rainbow” is just stupendous.
This was the last 80s Rainbow tour before Deep Purple reformed and came back with ‘Perfect Strangers’.

This release will prove a delight for the multi-thousand Rainbow enthusiasts around the world still flying the flag for one of the UK s finest ever Rock ensembles.
“Taffs And Toffs” isn’t just a cheap bootleg, it’s a very good recording and a collector’s piece.
