Also requested here’s the not easy to find Rock Candy Records remaster of “Weekend Warriors“, TED NUGENT‘s explosive album. Issued in 1978, hot on the heels of the ground breaking live album Double Live Gonzo!, Nugent was out to take few prisoners but plenty of scalps.
“Weekend Warriors” is an album that solidified Nugent’s reputation as not only one of the world’s greatest Rock showmen but also one of the savviest songwriters around.

Despite some line-up shake-ups, Ted returned after the one-two punch of his back-to-back most successful albums (Cat Scratch Fever and Double Live Gonzo!) with “Weekend Warriors”. As you can tell by the album cover art, the music contained within is unabashedly Ted, complete with bile-spitting vocals and rip roaring guitar work.

The album was a success. It’s hard to not be impressed by the sheer viciousness of such cuts as “Venom Soup”, title track “Weekend Warrior”, and “Need You Bad”.
The hard-hitting delivery o “Weekend Warriors” confirmed Ted as a guitar hero, making arena rock sound exactly like it’s supposed to: like a motorcycle gang who’s come to take your daughter away.
