PUSH UK – Future Into The Past (re-recorded ’80s songs & more)

PUSH UK - Future Into The Past (2015-16) full
HERE

Fronted by vocalist & songwriter David A. Saylor, PUSH UK released few years ago the wonderful AOR album ‘Strange World’ now out out print, and has become a genuine collector’s item that demands high prices when being offered for sale on the internet. This got their label thinking it might not be such a bad move to give the album a second run, re-Christened “Past Into The Future“.
But instead of merely re-releasing the disc they have remastered and re-packaged it while also adding 8 bonus tracks.

Amongst the latter are 4 sparkling new recordings that show the guys still have the AOR fire intact to come up with quality stuff and maybe we will get to welcome an album of all new songs sometime in the future.
To many members of the Melodic Rock / AOR community, both professionals and fans, it remains a mystery why Push UK along with similar acts such as Voyager UK or Strutz didn’t get signed back in the day while lesser talented bands were offered a record deal.

Because David A. Saylor and Co. fell by the way side it wasn’t always easy to get hold of their stuff and that’s why when AOR Boulevard Records gave their demos an official release a couple of years ago the disc was quickly snapped up by 500 always hungry fans of the genre.
This new version “Past Into The Future” is also a strictly limited edition so don’t wait too long to place your order when you missed out on it the first time around.

But what exactly is the fuzz all about with Push UK?
Well, simply because the band produces the kind of sounds that will pull the rug out from under any fan of Melodic Rock / AOR and leave him/her flat on the back longing for more.

Think Shy, FM, Dare, Strangeways and Heartland or lush keyboards, superb vocals and heavenly melodies to get the picture.
Just how good the voice of mister Saylor is becomes clear on the gentle balladry of “Secret Lover” which is present here in its original version as well as in an unplugged one.

Sure I have personal favorites like the highly contagious “Miracle Of Love”, the soaring “Strange World” or the beautiful, keyboard laced “Hannah” but any lover of the genre can safely add this platter to the collection.
The 4 new tracks have a bit more crunch to them when compared to the band’s 80s output because the guitars take up a more prominent role but apart from that the combo stays true to the chosen musical path.
