KENNY McGEE – Heartless Daze Two [digitally remastered] (2021)
After achieving his newfound fame with cult hair metal melodic rockers JULLIET, singer / songwriter KENNY McGEE would not slow down. He wanted to broaden his horizons further and found the perfect opportunity to do so shortly thereafter. A great opportunity would return Kenny home to Florida where he began his solo career with the band HEARTLESS, a band deep in the classic rock and roll tradition.
HEARTLESS would pack clubs night in and night out and record countless never-released songs. Critics and fans argue this is Kenny’s best music he has ever recorded. Nearly 30 years later, Kenny has opened the vault, and these songs are being released on CD for the first time, fully remastered by Rob Colwell at Bombworks Sound.
This is classic US melodic rock with an ’80s hair metal catchiness in the vein of JULLIET but also early GREAT WHITE, CINDERELLA, etc.
When you mention the name Kenny McGee, one conjures up the image of the consummate professional; an artist whose tenacity and drive have resulted in one of Florida’s most prolific musical careers.
Rising from the local club scene level, he has become a force to be reckoned with; amassing such titles as singer, songwriter, musician, producer, and national recording artist. McGee gained most of his initial recognition when he fronted the melodic-rock band JULLIET that eventually attained cult-like status in the American East Coast circuit.
Possessing a rare charisma and raw natural ability, he quickly found success. When JULLIET hit their utmost peak of popularity; Kenny decided that it would not be prudent for them to sit on their laurels and settle for limited Florida success.
He and then guitarist Jimmi Delisi took off for Los Angeles with their sights set on rocking the whole world instead. It would be an uphill battle however; for they would have to regain all the status and comfort that they had given up for a shot at the big time.
One year to the day after hitting the Los Angeles area, Enigma/Capitol Records signed JULLIET to a major label deal where they released their superb self-titled CD.
Produced by McGee himself, the songs on ”Heartless Daze Two” were professionally multi-track recorded & mixed, and while Kenny put out a self-released compilation almost two decades ago, its was a very limited indie release.
Now, for the first time, the complete Kenny McGee’s HEARTLESS recordings are being properly released, with a pristine remastered treatment for all melodic rock fans rejoice.
