LITTLE CAESAR – Redemption (Deluxe Edition remastered reissue) (2021)
Hard Rockers LITTLE CAESAR launched their own record label and are starting a reissue campaign of their catalog beginning today with ”Redemption (Deluxe Edition)”. The band are excited to reissue remastered deluxe versions of some of their best albums complete with new artwork and bonus tracks, to be distributed by Deko Entertainment.
‘Redemption’ was LITTLE CAESAR comeback album from some years ago, where their sound is practically identical to what they sounded when exploded into the scene; classic US bluesy hard rock with melody. Now the album has been expanded with additional tracks and a refreshed, punchy remastered job.
Little Caesar are best remembered for their rocking version of the soul music song “Chain of Fools”, the 1989 hit single from their self-titled debut album on DGC Records, a subsidiary of Geffen Records. John Kalodner did A&R work for the group, and Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue, etc.) produced their debut self-titled album, which was released to positive reviews.
On the strength of the singles “Chain of Fools” (a cover of the Aretha Franklin song) and “In Your Arms”, Little Caesar hit number 139 on the US Billboard 200 in 1990.
The band reformed for some live shows in 2001, and released a new album, ‘Redemption’, in 2009. Now the band is set to reissue ‘Redemption’ which has been remastered and repackaged for this Limited “Deluxe Edition”, which features four live ‘Redemption’ tracks including the stand out track “Supersonic”, plus “Every Picture Tells a Story”, “Sick And Tired”, and “Real Rock Drive”.
Redemption kicks off with “Same Old Story”, a song previously found on the band’s odd-n-ends collection This Time It’s Different, and is a great way to ease into things. From there we get taken through a course of Little Caesar 101.
“Supersonic” rolls right along before the soul starts pouring out on “Loving You Is Killing Me”. “Sick And Tired” is one of the best tracks on the CD, which finds the band at their heaviest followed closely by the groovy “Real Rock Drive”.
Then the band shows their heartfelt side on “Every Picture Tells A Story”, a very melodic tune.
Little Caesar have always managed to set themselves apart from the crowd, and continue to do it today, apart from the pressures and influence of record companies. It is no longer about fame and fortune for the members of Little Caesar, it is simply about releasing quality music to the fans that remember them.
