Some time ago Rock Candy Records started a especially numbered ‘JPCANDY’ series focused on the remastered reissue of Japanese bands / albums. Among these, there’s the first LP’s from BOW WOW, a pioneering hard rock / metal Japan act. This “Super Live” is the culmination of Bow Wow’s 3-first LP success and a testimony of the band hot performances.
By this point Bow Wow already opened for major acts and played at major venues in Japan, and the band needed a live album.
“Super Live” includes, of course, songs from the band’s previous albums, but in this live settlement and with group increased skills, many sound quite different than the originals.
Additionally, Bow Wow feels more festive, more groovin’ than heavy.

Guitarist Kyoji Yamamoto was fast establishing himself as a craftsman with supreme technical ability. His playing was taking on a seriously brilliant sheen, combining the techniques and flare of influential Western players such as Ritchie Blackmore and Jimi Hendrix yet leaving room to create a style of his own.

BOW WOW - Super Live [Rock Candy remastered] booklet

“Super Live” is an intense live LP captured with that big ambiance typical from this kind of recordings at the end of the Seventies.
This Rock Candy reissue is a true ‘collector’s edition’ because Bow Wow’s “Super Live” never was released outside Japan before. One ‘import LP’ that was on all Hard Rock tape-traders lists back in the day.
