GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS – Back On The Road (2023)
GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS formed in Stockholm in 1983 rocked the ’80 with two strong album recently featured at 0dayrox in their remastered versions. Now 2023 the Swedes are back with the long-awaited follow-up to their 2007 album.
It took many years for GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS to get together again and we have 2023 the new album ”Back On The Road”, recorded at House of Voodoo in Stockholm during the pandemic and mixed by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker. 11 great songs spanning from high-energy action hard rock to a harmonica-fueled cowboy ballad.
This new album clearly shows that the men can still do it; the riffs and choruses are catchy, the songs are arranged top notch down to the smallest details, and the overall LP swings n’ rocks like crazy.
GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS 2023 sounds much more polished and mature, but not less rocking. You can hear hard rock, glam, pop-rock influences form early KISS to Rick Springfield – just listen to ‘House Of Fantasy’ and its poppy midpaced melody.
They rock harder on ‘I’m a Drudge’, ‘Dodge The Bullet’ and ‘Turn On The Music’ in a style of current Scandinavian high energy rawk ‘n’ roll bands, and there’s a lot of fun on the ’70s styled ‘Criminal Boogie’
GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS didn’t got luck back in the late 80s but they got talent for sure. ”Back On The Road” confirms they’re intact and rocks greatly. A fun, entertaining set of new songs with that classy retro vibe.
