ANN WILSON & TRIPSITTER – Live in Concert (2024)
Heart’s ANN WILSON, after releasing a good album with her own band Tripsitter, embarked into an American tour to please classic rock fans with her torrential voice. Now ANN WILSON & TRIPSITTER are releasing “Live in Concert“, and for those who say Rock is dead – of course, it is not.
The Rock and Roll inductee opened the concerts with the song “Even It Up” from Heart’s fifth album, Bebe Le Strange, and ended with the song fans were crying out for, “Barracuda”, Heart’s immortal classic. Of course there’s “Magic Man”, “Alone”, “Crazy On You”, etc, but also a Led Zeppelin cover, and sure, songs from the album with Tripsitter.
At 73 and over 50 years of singing Wilson still has an octave three vocal range, and her voice has been described as a lyric soprano where she can go very low, where most women can’t, and then hit the high registered notes almost simultaneously and she does it with such emotion.
She’s in great shape here, and the band sounds fantastic. The sound quality of the recording is excellent.
