SABER, the Los Angeles-based NWOTHM style act, will release their sophomore studio album titled ”Lost In Flames” on February 7, 2025, via ROAR. This is pure classic metal, with the band’s own twist; SABER has uniquely American sleazy take on the NWOTHM sound.
Sonically and aesthetically, SABER’s artistic identity is firmly rooted in the 80s. With the addition of another guitarist to re-create that mythical twin-guitar attack, this fearsome five piece draws from notable influences such as JUDAS PRIEST, QUEENSRYCHE, RIOT, CRIMSON GLORY and IRON MAIDEN.
Through their own lens, they’ve created a distinctly energetic audiovisual experience that resonates with their diverse and growing fanbase. “We are heavily inspired by all ’80s music, including the glam era. Though our looks are unmistakably glam, don’t let that fool you… our songs are heavy and loud!”, says guitarist Joel.
And indeed SABER are loud ‘n heavy, at places bordering speed, with short, effective songs, playing traditional heavy metal in a fresh way.

”Lost in Flames” is filled with very catchy, energetic and upbeat songs sounding like a mix of the most polished NWOBHM era along with so-called “U.S. Metal” of the day and even a little hint of LA metal.
High-pitched, soaring vocals, crunchy guitars, cool solos, galloping riffs and thunderous drumming, it’s all here and it’s a hell of a lot of fun and will give your neck quite the workout. It’s not one bit original, but when it’s this well executed, who cares?
Yet another one for those of you who can’t get enough ’80s-style metal sounds.
