WILD SOULS – Queen Of My Heart (2020)
Greek melodic hard rockers WILD SOULS delivered two really good albums so far, and now are presenting their new CD via Lions Pride Music, the darn catchy “Queen Of My Heart“.
Things kicks-off with the Whitesnake-esque tune of “Nothing But Loving You”, a great start for sure with its classic hard rock riff, strong arrangements, tight musicianship and harp production sound.
The indeed groovy and hard hittin’ bluesy rocker “Night Groove” is one of my personal favorites here, while with “Love Ain’t No Lie” Wild Souls brings back the glory sounds from the mid 80s with gusto.
“Ready To Rock” (its title says all), the slightly hair metal “Sexccelent”, and the classy “Set Me Free” (including Hammond B3) all rock with melody, driven by the band’s twin guitar and George Nikolaou’s solid vocals.
Another highlight is without any doubt the ultra melodic hymn “I Remember You”. It has one of the best choruses on the album (and all are good n’ catchy), cool synths, and the solo kills.
Title track “Queen Of My Heart” seems composed in the ’80s, it has that characteristic AOR atmosphere not losing its power. Great one.
Again, and not only for its title, “Snakebite” brings to mind late Eighties Whitesnake, a song with a groovy uptempo rhythm and sharp guitars, while “Hold Me Tight” adds an AOR-ish touch to the proceedings.
Wild Souls are a band with something special, perhaps because of its ’80s influences, the way they arrange the songs, and how “Queen Of My Heart” has been procuced, with a crisp output.
Whatever it its the reason, if you are a child of the Eighties you’ll really enjoy this album, varied and catchy.
