THE MOB – The Mob [Reb Beach / Doug Pinnick / Kelly Keagy / Tim Drury / Kip Winger] HQ

As requested, here’s at max quality the pretty awesome self-titled, only album by super-group THE MOB. This melodic hard rock outfit was assembled by Whitesnake guitar player Reb Beach, who asked King’s X Doug Pinnick to perform lead vocals, Winger band-mate Kip Winger joined to also produce, and ex Eagles Timothy Drury and Night Ranger’s Kelly Keagy completed the line up.
Sometimes super-groups doesn’t work at all, THE MOB not only works but delivers some terrific material of strongly guitar driven melodic hard rock with a certain darkness but with melody and catchiness as main focus. Musically speaking, the release is a powerful, fun, and a catchy blend of immense 80’s and 90’s Hard Rock from end to end. While comparisons to Winger’s sound have been made, make no mistake that this music is decisively harder and edgier.
The Mob” is well suited for those that like their melodies big and their rhythm rock solid. Music that gets you to hum a melody and move with the beat. The CD is almost out of print and quite expensive now…

GRINDER BLUES (dUg Pinnick) – El Dos (2021)

GRINDER BLUES, which features dUg Pinnick of King’s X fame on bass and vocals, guitarist and vocalist Jabo Bihlman, and Scot “Little” Bihlman on drums, are back with their second album “El Dos” (The Two in Spanish).
GRINDER BLUES has a confident mission. To quote Dug directly “The idea for the music was to stay away from the clichés and rock out. If we felt like we were heading into any songs that seemed like standard blues lyrically or musically, we made it a point to veer in the opposite direction.”
The band is a Hard Blues Rock band that is aiming to offer up a contemporary spin on traditional Blues Rock and that’s essentially what ”El Dos” is all about, driven by strong guitars and dUg’s unique vocals…

GRINDER BLUES (dUg Pinnick) – Grinder Blues (2014)

Not having enough after delivering an incendiary record with KXM alongside guitar monster George Lynch, bass pumper dUg Pinnick also released in 2014 the debut album of his new band called GRINDER BLUES and its self-titled platter.
After 30 years of blazing a pioneering trail through progressive rock and metal acts such the essential King’s X , dUg Pinnick brings his distorted bass grooves and soulful vocals into the realm of the blues, the ‘heavy blues’.
His new trio’s debut album focuses on Pinnick’s unique interpretation of blues bass, as he blasts overdriven licks in the low frequency of drop C tuning.
Grinder Blues is completed by the highly regarded EMMY award winning duo The Bihlman Bros: drummer Scot Bihlman and guitarist Jabo Bihlman.
