More and more female fronted rock is being requested here, and today we have a real find; JAX HOLLOW‘s debut album “Underdog Anthems“. Not only Jax’s great voice & guitar playing – and her skilled all-girl band – piqued our interest, but the fact legendary Michael Wagener produced, recorded & mixed the whole thing.
And what we hear here is classic bluesy biting rock n’ roll plenty of melody and that unmistakable crisp production sound Wagener is famous for. With a bulky budget at hand, the producer can do miracles, making an album sound like in the ’80s (those drums!!!)
