SECRET SMILE – Hurry Up And Wait (2005)

This 2021 we had two MULLETT albums, enjoyable recordings from these seasoned melodic rock veterans. These happen to be the last from these talented musicians, as founder and frontman TJ “Ron Jovi” Gabriele sadly recently passed away due to Covid-19.
One of you requested material from the band when they were called SECRET SMILE, releasing very good melodic, catchy, AORish albums during 2000’s, with Ted Poley collaborating and Jeff Cannata producing.
On ”Hurry Up And Wait” the ’80s melodic rock / AOR has been even augmented courtesy of Cannata’s balanced job behind the desk, the melodies polished and the overall product more mature both in songwriting & arrangements. A mixture of TED POLEY, FIREHOUSE, ADRIANGALE, NORWAY, etc, rich in harmonies.
With song titles like “Runaway”, ”Tears In The Sky”, “Another Lonely Night”, “Talking to a Stranger” you know what this CD is all about; ’80s stuff! You have melodic – and crunchy when needed – guitar, keyboard splashes, hooky choruses, clean lead vocals… this is Melodic Rock / AOR folks…

SECRET SMILE – The Road Less Traveled (2003)

This 2021 we had two MULLETT albums, enjoyable recordings from these seasoned melodic rock veterans. These happen to be the last from these talented musicians, as founder and frontman TJ “Ron Jovi” Gabriele sadly recently passed away due to Covid-19.
One of you requested material from the band when they were called SECRET SMILE, releasing very good melodic, catchy, AORish albums during 2000’s, with Ted Poley collaborating and Jeff Cannata producing.
The Road Less Traveled” is a wonderful slice of ’80s style melodic rock / AOR, driven by sweet guitars, keyboard embellishments and the clean, clear voice of TJ. A mix of TED POLEY, FIREHOUSE and ADRIANGALE is the best way to picture SECRET SMILE’s sound, timeless stuff for sure…

MULLETT (feat Ted Poley) – The Originals Volume 2 (2021)

Formed a decade ago as a tribute band of all ’80s hard rock, hair metal and glam rock n’ roll culture, not only performing classic songs from the era but also recreating the stage shows, pyro et all, American rockers MULLETT are much more than a nostalgia act.
MULLETT write their own songs as well, and they released “The Originals” early this year. Now, we are surprised with “The Originals Volume 2“, eleven new songs from the band’s pen, of course inspired by the Sunset Strip.
MULLETT’s quality has been praised by musicians from the era like Janet Gardner of Vixen; “MULLETT is the most authentic new act bringing the ’80s back! – these guys not only wear spandex and a lot of hairspray, but they have the chops.”
Danger Danger’s Ted Poley said; “Bang Bang, what’s that sound? It’s MULLETT kicking the ’80s ass every night!” And Poley is so happy with them that agreed to record with them on “The Originals Volume 2″…

MULLETT – The Originals (2021)

Seems lost ’80s albums reissue label Eonian Records is back, ad they will be releasing soon “The Originals“, the debut album from MULLETT. Formed a decade ago as a tribute band of all ’80s hard rock, hair metal and glam rock n’ roll culture, MULLETT have been performing from corporate functions and private parties to college campuses, theaters, nightclubs and casinos.
Now it’s time for their original songs, hence the title of album. What you would expect from a band opening their debut CD with a song titled ’80s Girl’?
This is pure fun bringing back the Eighties paraphernalia of Poison, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, complete with party-ready choruses, cool guitar riffs, keyboards… and lots of cowbell…
