Already praised here on this blog, “Sacrifice”, the new album by UK legends SAXON, will be released next March 4th in its Deluxe Edition including a bonus disc.

With a storming new stomp in their boots and a renewed, lithe swagger to their legendary sound and taking a sharper, re-invigorated approach to the production, Saxon have delivered their strongest and most inspired songs for many-a-year.

This Deluxe Edition / Limited Edition, also produced by singer Biff Byford and mastered by Andy Sneap, comes with an extra CD featuring re-workings of tracks from the Saxon catalogue, including a classy orchestrated version of “Crusader” which works superbly.

This is just an advance of the album in the making with a full symphony orchestra.

While the ‘Crusader’ album is also revisited for a new polished, spruced up re-recorded take of “Just Let Me Rock” (killer), an acoustic version of debut album stand-out “Frozen Rainbow” thrives in a stripped down environment.

Some newer material also get re-workings: from ‘Solid Ball Of Rock’ we have an intimate and emotional acoustic take on “Requiem”, and the title track from ‘Forever Free’ sounds brand and spanking in its newly re-recorded format.

Really Good stuff.

Thank you so much for the Saxon, one of the few NWOBHM bands still around, and doing good stuff. Appreciate the bonus material, as the copy Ill be getting here is the ol' regular edition.
