SIN CITY SINNERS – Let It Burn (2016)

SIN CITY SINNERS - Let It Burn (2016)
HERE

For over 9 years the properly named SIN CITY SINNERS have been Las Vegas #1 brand for real Rock N’ Roll, and one of the hardest working bands from the Valley. With tons of shows per year and having shared stages and recorded with the likes of Gilby Clarke, George Lynch, Ron Keel, Chris Holmes, etc, the guys are releasing 2016 their sixth CD “Let It Burn“.

Sin City Sinners do not wanna to be classified under one genre of music, as they say, they play Rock N’ Roll. In many ways they are a power pop band, but there are elements of the ’80s glam / hard rock scene and some ’90s as well.
Largely, the band is a “melting pot” of different musical influence and styles, which fans will argue is one of their greatest strengths.

Opening cut ‘Livin’ Like a Sinner’ is the perfect way for the group to capture a listener’s attention with its hard rock riffs and swaggering vocals. Vocalist Joshua Alan is one of the notable high points of this record, and it shows on both the first track and its follow up, the catchy ‘Puts Me Through Hell’.
The band perfectly straddles power pop and hard rock on ‘Higher Than High’ further showing just how diverse the album (and a band at large) really is.
‘So Yeah!’ is more tongue-in-cheek and I think it’s sung by guitarist Doc Ellis who does not convince me much, as well as the silly lyrics ‘If Marry Wanna’, although musically rocks fine.

‘Social Disease’ adds some edge to the proceedings (glammy riffs), while ‘Get Over You’ is one of my favorite tracks with its hooky poppy chorus.
One of the surprises is ‘Star Crossed Haters’ a melodic rocker that goes back and forth from straight up rock to ballad-centered territory with some alt feel but working very well.
Title track ‘Let It Burn’ is a straightforward rocker that lets the group shine and go out with a bang, featuring some of the wildest guitar playing on the album. The stinging guitars brings to mind Gilby Clarke.
