BLANC FACES self-titled debut is another of the Frontiers Music reissues from their very early catalog which ranks as a mandatory must have in your collection. This 2016 refreshed release includes the very hard to find original Japanese bonus track ‘When The World Comes Down’.

“Blanc Faces” was the album that definitely marked the real return of AOR / Melodic Rock to the forefront of today’s music scene. This fabulous record received unanimous positive reviews not only from the specialized press, but also Rock in general, and made the music industry to pay attention to the genre again.
Fronted by brothers Robbie and Brian La Blanc who have already lend their talents to the likes of Bobby Kimball, Michael Bolton, Rupert Holmes and Ronnie Spector to name a few, this was a project / band to bring back the pure ’80s melodies & hooks.

From finish to start this is a collection of songs that blows you away with each listen. Quality stuff indeed all over. Both the song material and the production are of an extremely high level.
When listening to this disc, various names and big time classic acts in the Melodic Rock / AOR field will pop into your mind, musically with the kind of drive once delivered by the legendary Survivor or Foreigner, while the vocals of Robbie La Blanc aren’t a million miles away from those of Mr. Lou Gramm.

Robbie La Blanc is owner of an amazing talent if you ask me, and on top of that he also handled rhythm guitar duties. Brother Brian took care of the bass parts, background vocals, percussion, and some additional rhythm guitar and keyboards. Together they wrote all the songs and produced the album, so there’s obviously no lack of talent when it comes to these two gentlemen.
The excellent lead guitar fire works come courtesy of Butch Taylor, while Kyle Woodring (known for his work with Dennis De Young / Styx, Survivor and John Mellencamp) occupied the drum stool. The band’s sound is completed by the keyboards of Jeff Batter, and as whole they deliver a polished melodic punch.

Everything about this album reeks of quality, without a doubt one of the best Melodic Rock / AOR albums in History. A true gem plenty of hooks, awesome choruses and superb production.
This 2016 includes the original Japanese track ‘When The World Comes Down’, very much sought after by the fans when the record appeared years ago.
