HANDFUL OF RAIN – Three Days To Come Back (2016)
Coming from Spain, melodic hard rockers HANDFUL OF RAIN are presenting their full length debut “Three Days To Come Back“, a great 11-track album plenty of catchy melodies and solid instrumentation.
Founded ten years ago in Cadiz, the band has played with the likes of Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Great White, House of Lords, Tesla, Michael Schenker Group or Lynch Mob to name a few, and after some line up changes Handful Of Rain consolidated a new style full of an elaborated and neat sound.
Handful Of Rain released an EP sometime ago recorded in Spain, but they reached Don Dokken for the mixing, and he put the tracks on Wyn Davis hands (Dokken, Dio, John Norum, Great White) who did the job at All Access Studios in Redondo Beach, California.
As you see, this is a band with quality material, and their performances are second to none.
On “Three Days To Come Back”‘, they clearly wear their musical influences on their proud sleeves.
Bands such as House Of Lords (opener ‘Saints & Sinners’, ‘Find The Way’), Gotthard (‘Break Your Chains’, ‘Victoria’) or Tyketto (the wonderful semi-ballad ‘Come Back’) get a clear tip of the collective hat.
The highly melodic and catchy ‘Without You’ nod to mid ’80s Bonfire, but the overall album has a very updated sound, a vibrant and euphoric feel that reminds one of bands like Eclipse, Neonfly et al.
The songs stand majestically, and the vocals soar like Michael Sweet meeting Klaus Meine in the coolest bar you could find.
Handful Of Rain’s “Three Days To Come Back” arrives as an unexpected but really welcomed surprise this 2016.
Killer songs, potent riffs, soaring vocals and a quite strong production makes this album a necessary listen for fans of classic sounds from the genre.
If you like your hard rock on the melodic side, then Handful Of Rain will give you multiple ear-gasms.
