Australia was an important part of Richard Marx’s early career – his 1987 debut album reached its highest chart position anywhere in the world, in Australia.

Richard Marx has enjoyed nine Top 40 hits in Australia, including 2 ARIA #1’singles – “Right Here Waiting” for five weeks in 1989 and “Hazard” for three weeks in 1992. Australia was the only territory in the world to achieve a #1 single for “Hazard.”
