RICHARD MARX – Rush Street +1 [Japan promo CD for radio stations]

We have featured here the best sounding CD press of RICHARD MARX first two albums, and one of you asked for his third, “Rush Street“. This record never has been remastered, and doesn’t needs to as it sounds fantastic.
This rare Japanese pressed disc was distributed for promotional use only. It has the same packaging (even the OBI), but the sonic output is different than the regular release.
Indeed, this promo version of “Rush Street” sounds fabulous. Destined for radio broadcast, the Dinamic Range is better and the output punchy. We have paired this one with the regular release, and there’s a difference.
It truly feels like a late ’90s remastering job, those that fix the early CD era ‘flat transfer to digital’ but avoid the brickwall of many current remasters.
Of course, the brilliant production design of “Rush Street” helps a lot. Yes, “Rush Street” is just another – and one the greatest – of those 1990-92 major label US productions, with a glossy, pristine and huge sound.

RICHARD MARX – Songwriter (2022)

RICHARD MARX, who scored with three #1 singles in the late ’80s (“Hold On To the Nights,” “Satisfied,” and “Right Here Waiting”), will release his new full length album next Sept. 30, 2022. Properly titled “Songwriter“, as Marx has written/co-written countless songs for others, this time offers a multi-genre release including no less than 20 songs (!) and features collaborations with such fellow songwriters as Richard Page, Burt Bacharach, Chris Daughtry, Keith Urban, David Hodges of Evanescence, as well as two of Marx’s sons, Lucas and Jesse, among others.
The LP will cover four different styles of music; pop, rock, country and ballads — “I’ve had such an amazing opportunity in my songwriting career to write all kinds of songs with, and for, all kinds of artists,” Marx said. “It finally occurred to me that there was no reason not to record an album of my own that touches on multiple genres I love.”

Eighties hit-maker RICHARD MARX is releasing a 2-disc Special Edition greatest hits called ”Stories To Tell; Greatest Hits and More“, which may be of interest to fans since not only features fresh 2021 remastering of his terrific hits, but also comes with a bonus discs of demos, rarities and new songs. The two-CD set is being issued as a companion – or ‘soundtrack’ – to Marx’s book ‘Stories to Tell: A Memoir’
The new release contains all the hits and his more lovable songs fully remastered on CD 1, while CD 2 offers five unheard demos – including ones for ‘Right Here Waiting’ and ‘Hazard’ – in addition to live rarities and new recordings…

“Don’t Be Scared By These Hands” is the out of print and rare 2nd solo album from the legendary The Tubes front man FEE WAYBILL, produced by Richard Marx, and partially recorded in Sweden by Tommy Denander. Among the players we find Steve Lukather (not only on guitar but also keyboards), Bruce Gaitsch (King Of Hearts, Richard Marx), Tommy Denander, Randy Jackson and Johnathan Moffett, among others.
