ONI LOGAN – The Cosmic Trust Sessions (2023) *Exclusive*

Former Lynch Mob frontman ONI LOGAN is releasing a new EP titled ‘‘The Cosmic Trust Sessions” only available on physical format.
We’re all fans of Oni Logan unique voice. His work on the first Lynch Mob album was stupendous and we always thought his subsequent absence from the hard rock scene was nothing short of a crime. Sure, Oni recorded an album in the early Nineties with his band Violet Demise but never officially released – put out by Oni himself in limited copies as ‘LOGAN / ROBERTSON – Revisited’ and featured in exclusive at 0dayrox some time ago.
Since then, Logan recorded / wrote for others and released a solo album, however far from the hard rock style we love from him. Well, he’s back 2023 with a new band named Oni Logan & The Wicked Mob, and there’s an album in the making.
But let’s talk about this EP ”The Cosmic Trust Sessions” recorded last year, delivering some rocking tracks with that Lynch Mob feeling plus some heavy bluesy classic rock touches and certain darkness. All the material is very strong, timeless, and very well arranged, performed and produced…

STRYPER – Roxx Regime Demos [Limited Edition Remastered +3] (2019) *Exclusive*

In 2019 STRYPER celebrated 20 years of their website on the world wide web. To make it special they featured some exclusive content and put on sale “The Roxx Regime Demos [Limited Edition Remastered +3]“, a limited, collector’s edition of their very early recordings.
Before Stryper’s major label record deals; before multi-platinum albums; before chart-topping videos; before history was made… there was Roxx Regime. In 1983 brothers Robert and Michael Sweet teamed up with high-school classmate Oz Fox and local bassist Timothy Gaines to form a band that would forever change the history of Christian rock music. The four guys released a demo under the name Roxx Regime and started playing the local Hollywood club circuit.
These demos were previously released on July 7, 2007 (7-7-7) on CD. Now this remastered version feature the eight original tracks… plus three demos that have never been released.
If you think ‘demos’ can’t be improved… well, in fact these were professionally recorded songs, and when you have multi-track tapes, expert hands can make miracles.
Production was limited to only 1,000 copies and features new cover artwork. This extremely limited-edition release was also pressed on colored vinyl… of course, all CD’s & LP’s are sold out now.
Be aware there’s fake versions of this remastered version floating the web … this is the real one.

RICHARD MARX – Rush Street +1 [Japan promo CD for radio stations]

We have featured here the best sounding CD press of RICHARD MARX first two albums, and one of you asked for his third, Rush Street. This record never has been remastered, and doesn’t needs to as it sounds fantastic.
This rare Japanese pressed disc was distributed for promotional use only. It has the same packaging (even the OBI), but the sonic output is different than the regular release.
Indeed, this promo version of “Rush Street” sounds fabulous. Destined for radio broadcast, the Dinamic Range is better and the output punchy. We have paired this one with the regular release, and there’s a difference.
It truly feels like a late ’90s remastering job, those that fix the early CD era ‘flat transfer to digital’ but avoid the brickwall of many current remasters.
Of course, the brilliant production design of “Rush Street” helps a lot. Yes, “Rush Street” is just another – and one the greatest – of those 1990-92 major label US productions, with a glossy, pristine and huge sound.

ROXY BLUE – Westwood One In Concert [The Troubadour] (1992 Promo CD only) *Rare*

This one was requested long time ago, a rarity much sought after by collectors: US hard rockers ROXY BLUEWestwood One In Concert” – Live at The Troubadour. This show was a 1992 broadcast and as happened with many bands from the era, Westwood One pressed some limited copies on CD.
This recording is of special interest because ROXY BLUE was a real beast live, and there isn’t tapes / bootlegs from the band at their peak when they where touring presenting debut album ‘Want Some?’.
Soon after, grunge took the US scene and bands like ROXY BLUE didn’t found venues to play regularly. Ironically, this Westwood One pressing – they did a few CD copies for archival purposes – is a double disc with the other being a Nirvana concert…
Sound quality is very good, and shows ROXY BLUE rocking hard, a band that unfortunately arrived too late into the scene. A collectors item.

JEFF SCOTT SOTO – Rarities Vol 1 (gift CD given by JSS for the meet & greet fans)

You asked for more JEFF SCOTT SOTO, and 0dayrox delivers… how about this rare CD titled ”Rarities Vol 1” given as gift by Soto – hand signed – to fans at the pre-shows meet & greet.
This is a selection (by Soto himself) of very good quality unreleased songs / demos he recorded during various vocals sessions where he put his voice for various artists.
There’s songs for ex-Megadeth guitar player Jeff Young (very melodic songs), ex- 3rd Stage Alert guitar player Albert Hans Morris, for ex- St. Valentine member Joe Mina, a song done with Tommy Thayer (Black & Blue, Kiss) & Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol).
All are had rock / melodic classic songs, and there’s as well a couple of ‘grungy’ demos Soto recorded for actor / musician Patrick Muldoon, whom starred the TV Show ‘Melrose Place’ in the mid-90s. Both songs are listed as ‘Melrose Place’ soundtrack 1995′, but never used. Before you ask, no, there’s no Vol 2… until now.

LaMARCA – LaMarca (digitally remastered +2) Out Of Print

Here’s a request from an ’80s fan, LaMARCA‘s one and only self-titled album from 1985. LaMarca was a project / band from American singer and composer Abe LaMarca, brained together with veteran producer, engineer, songwriter and guitar player Jeff Silverman – who also has worked, played & recorded with Rick Springfield, Mark Free, Bill Wray, Nick Gilder and many others AOR artists – being as well composer for Hollywood and TV movie soundtracks.
With the back-up of accomplished session musicians such as multifaceted drummer Carlos Vega, Jamie Sheriff (Eyes) or master Tom Kelly (i-Ten, Van Stephenson), they recorded this very good LP between 1984/85. The style of LaMarca is catchy poppy, radio-friendly AOR with some Hi-Tech elements, mostly uptempo and tasteful.
Additionally, as extra bonus we added the band’s contribution for another legendary ’80s soundtrack, ‘Lady Beware’, the cool song “Bad In Blue”.
So, you have here all LaMarca material ever recorded into one package – only at 0dayrox…

TROOPER – Two For The Show ’76 [Canadian CD Reissue] HQ

As requested by many, here’s the not easy to find only CD version of cult Canadian rockers TROOPER album “Two For The Show“. Trooper is one of Canada’s best Seventies melodic rockers. From 1975 to 1980, the Vancouver quintet produced five albums and a dozen top 20 hits. And they’re still around, despite founding members Ra McGuire and Brian Smith announced their retirement last year – giving their encouragement and blessing to remaining members to continue.
In their early era Trooper was huge in Canada selling platinum, but due to MCA inept operations the band never made it big in America. There’s still a legal dispute and Trooper early albums only have been reissued on CD in Canada (and a couple in Japan), now out of print. This ”Two For The Show” CD – Trooper 2nd album – is being sold for $100, go figure.
It’s evident that Bachman’s focus was aimed at the merits of a strong hook and a gripping chorus, which in turn escalated Trooper into the same category as country mates like April Wine, Loverboy, and Prism.

TROOPER – Trooper 1980 [Japan CD release] HQ

As requested by many, here’s the not easy to find only CD version of cult Canadian rockers TROOPER album “Trooper 1980“.
There’s still a legal dispute and Trooper early albums only have been reissued on CD in Canada.
However, ”Trooper 1980” only was released on CD in Japan during the Nineties, and never re-pressed. Used CD’s are being sold for over $100.
This album, also known as ‘Untitled’ was the first produced by the band. Released at the end of 1980, TROOPER fully embraced the polished US sound here, mixing pop-rock with AOR. ”Trooper 1980” is some kind of a mix of Cheap Trick, and the upcoming The Tubes & Loverboy albums….

STIFFKITTY – Stiffkitty (2009) out of print

STIFFKITTY is an all-original band based out of Memphis, Tennessee consisting of members Todd Poole (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitars), Flexer (Lead Guitar/Background Vocals), John Snyder (Bass Guitar) and Ronnie Knight (Drums).
As requested, here’s STIFFKITTY self-titled debut which was recorded with the help of other Memphis icon: the great Jimi Jamison, who not only contacted the band with industry executives, but also provided backing vocals.
The band’s sound is based on hard driven yet melodic songs with a modern sound & style, at places pretty alternative. ”Stiff Kitty” ranges from hard rockers such as “Push”, “No Body Cares”, ”Stand Alone” and “Out of Control” to more mainstream fare such as “Save Me”, World Breaks Down”, or the very melodic “RedLight”, where you can clearly hear Jimi in the background.
The CD is quite expensive nowadays, hard to find…

SHUT UP & DRIVE – Control (1997) out of print

Yesterday we featured here the debut album from American Melodic Hard Rockers SHUT UP & DRIVE, and now here’s the also requested sophomore release “Control”. Despite of being recorded & released in 1997 in the midst the grunge era, not only SHUT UP & DRIVE maintained their ’80-style feel-good vibe but also the impressive quality production sound.
The songs in “Control” still retains that classic US melodic hard rock spirit of the first album, with an augmented bluesy hard rock style. The SKID ROW similarities of some parts of the first album are replaced by a ‘mature TESLA / EXTREME’ approach here, plus some ’90s NIGHT RANGER, HURRICANE, etc.
“Control” not only is strong for its very good production and songwriting, but also the players. The singer has that clean yet powerful voice needed for this genre, and the lead guitarist is second to none. Seriously, his chops are similar to Nuno Bettencourt or George Lynch.
Overall, “Control” is even better than the band’s debut, more complete…

SHUT UP & DRIVE – Driven [Japanese Edition]

As requested, here’s “Driven“, the quite unknown debut album by American Melodic Hard Rockers SHUT UP & DRIVE in its Japanese Edition.
Put out in 1994, SHUT UP & DRIVE didn’t care the down-tuned trend of the moment and released this wonderful, totally late ’80s / early ’90s sounding album that while independent produced, its quality is on par with any major label stuff. It’s so good that Japanese label Brunette / Alfa Records, Inc took notice and released the album in Asia when in America the CD was already very hard to find.
“Driven” not only is strong for its very good production and songwriting, but also the players. The singer has that clean yet powerful voice needed for this genre, and the lead guitarist is second to none. Seriously, his chops are similar to Nuno Bettencourt or George Lynch.
Additionally, and we can mention as reference acts like SKID ROW, TESLA, VAN HALEN and ROXY BLUE, SHUT UP & DRIVE has their very own style and gusto…

StunLeer – Once (1998)

Requested by one of you, here’s a band / album deserving better exposure: StunLeer‘s  CD “Once“. While appeared in 1998, the music & production packed inside is pure late ’80s akin Danger Danger and
Def Leppard.
This American melodic hard rock band was fronted by excellent vocalist Doug Howard, former singer for pomp masters Touch (Mark Mangold band), and unfortunately “Once” appeared during the dark ages for this type of music. But the album worked very well in Europe and Japan.
As said, the massive layers of processed backing vocals bring to mind Def Lepp, but also Giant, Tour De Force, synth-era Van Halen, etc. If you love this genre there isn’t a weak track here, and production is top notch…

CAST OF SHADOWS – Face The Time (1993)

As requested, here’s the quite rare and unknown album for AOR fans, 1993’s ”Face The Time” by CAST OF SHADOWS, a studio project formed by famed Canadian record producer, engineer and mixer Mike Fraser.
Despite of being released 1993, most of the songs on this album were recorded in the ’80, and while uncredited, renowned top session musicians were involved to create this wonderful slice of elegant AOR.
”Face The Time” sound orientation and style is fantastic, from SURVIVOR, JOURNEY or BOULEVARD to ICEHOUSE, GLASS TIGER or BENJAMIN ORR. ‘Cryin’ in the Rain’, ‘Street Magic’, title track, ‘Lifeline’, the ballad ‘Love Beyond Our Needs’, etc, are amazing melodic tunes filled with smooth vocals, keyboard splashes and refined guitars.
This is AOR magic folks… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

JANI LANE – Jabberwocky [the unreleased ’93 album] (1st Gen source) *0dayrox Exclusive*

As requested, here’s the unreleased album the late Warrant front man JANI LANE recorded in 1993; “Jabberwocky“. There has been a lot of bootlegs of these recordings – some also pressed on CD and sold at eBay, hence around 2004-2005 Lane decided to finally properly release that shelved tapes.
However a record deal appeared but asking for fresh, more contemporary rock, and the result was Jani’s first solo record ‘Back Down To One’, with a much more modern sound.
The songs on “Jabberwocky” are very early ’90s, quite acoustically driven – even the uptempo – something in vogue at the time with Mr. Big and Tesla successful acoustical albums. All are wonderfully melodic tunes, ‘very Jani Lane’.
This is a copy taken from a 1st Generation tape personally given by a friend of Jani to a 0dayrox team member many years ago, after he confirmed that Lane definitely shelved the entire project. The sound quality is much better that the bootlegs floating the web. And we have some new songs recorded 2004-2005, new material Jani Lane wrote for the inclusion into “Jabberwocky”.
Other sites just copy/paste or promises what doesn’t have … only 0dayrox brings to you really exclusive collectibles.
