Legendary hard rock band UFO has a new 2-CD set out today titled “Will The Last Man Standing (Turn Out The Light): The Best of UFO”, covering the band’s Chrysalis era (1973-1986).
This set has been newly remastered 2019 from the original analog production masters by Andy Pearce, and feature new sleeve notes by journalist Malcolm Dome.
Are these names familiar? Yes, both are from the Rock Candy Records team.
UFO are widely regarded as one of the UK’s best and most influential hard rock acts in history, and this year they are celebrating their 50th year in existence with their final world tour.
This double album brings together the best of the material they recorded in what is considered their halcyon years for the Chrysalis label.
The compilation has been created in conjunction with members Phil Mogg and Andy Parker who have provided new insights for the notes.
UFO is an essential band in your collection, and “Will The Last Man Standing (Turn Out The Light): The Best of UFO” delivers pretty much the best of this terrific band, including Michael Schenker’s era.
The sound quality of this 2019 remastering is great, fuller, really welcomed especially on the older songs.
