SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE — comprised of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot) and bassist Michael Anthony (Van Halen, Chickenfoot), drummer Jason Bonham (Bonham, Foreigner, Black Country Communion) and guitarist Vic Johnson — will release their debut album of original material, titled “Space Between”, tomorrow.

According to Hagar, the 10 songs on the ‘Space Between’ are not just a bunch of new songs grouped together on a CD. They were sewn together conceptually for a complete mental, emotional and physical experience, around the concepts of money, greed, enlightenment and truth.
That’s definitely go against the trend of ‘singles’, and it’s clearly focused on an ‘album’, like in the good old times.

And indeed it is. “Space Between” has that ‘album listening mood’ of yesteryear, and that’s why it’s being released on vinyl LP as well.
Musically, the album is quite varied, hard rocking at places, groovin’ n’ bluesy at others, and it’s very potent lyrically. Hagar always has been a solid songwriter all over his career, partying when needed, but also exploring some serious themes of interest.

Sammy and the guys have been together for about five years now, playing gigs from time to time seamlessly ripping through career-spanning hits from Montrose, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, etc.
And that’s benefits “Space Between”. You can feel the chemistry between these musicians, and the years oiling their sound. Of course a tour is planned for this Summer presenting the new album.

Although Sammy Hagar & The Circle signed a deal with major label BMG for the world-wide release of “Space Between”, Sammy announced this could be his last studio record. I don’t think so… the Red Rocker can’t stay still.
He’s in good shape both vocally and with the pen, and his band mates, well, you know them, all terrific players.

A very strong record, old-school in spirit yet updated to times via an organic production, a lively mix by Jaimeson Durr (Chickenfoot) and perfect mastering, courtesy of legendary Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.
