THE SCORE – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly [Retrospect Records Remastered] Out Of Print
As requested, here’s the first time on CD release of US melodic rockers THE SCORE 80s recordings, some only released back in the day on cassette in limited copies. One of you asked for some SURVIVOR-type of ballsy melodic rock, and THE SCORE delivers on ”The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly”.
And for sure vocalist Steve Buckley brings to mind the great Jimi Jamison too. Just listen to ‘She’s Got A Way”.
There’s some tasty guitar work all over these songs interlaced with that magic 80s keyboards to create pretty darn fine hooks. ‘Chyna’ is another favorite with a classy SURVIVOR touch circa 1985, while the guys add a bit of TOTOish AOR to ‘Standing On This Borderline’.
I can’t help but ‘Call On Me’ really sounds like Canadian great REFUGEE – another highlight – and the quality songwriting is maintained on tunes like ‘I Know If I Breakdown’, ‘It Feels So Right’ (think FRANKE & THE KNOCKOUTS), ‘How Long’ or the sweet ‘Words Of Love’.
You can’t go wrong with this kind of pure mid-Eighties melodic Rock / AOR, and while the songs were indie produced and recorded at different sessions, the sound quality is very good.
You’ll love this!

Is it possible to post the band ARAYA with “Crawling like a snail”? The original is much sought after but very hard to get and actually ARAYA was a very underrated band.
