18 NAMES (Karla Goldman) – Armed And Ready [Retrospect Records reissue]

To make the Karla Goldman request more complete, here we have her previous ’80s band 18 NAMES and their album “Armed And Ready“, a long lost LP reissued some time ago by Retrospect Records, now out of print.
The band showcased Karla’s impressive vocals and included into the line up bass player Scott Bender (future Baton Rouge member). A private release (only vinyl) from 1987, musically 18 Names sounds in fact pretty Pomp / Melodic Rock circa 1983 delivering some lovely parping keyboards / synth typical from the genre.

On the album there’s the original version of the song ‘Never Say No’ later re-recorded by Karla for her 1990 album, and it’s really cool to hear the contrast between this pompy version and the latter more melodic hard / midtempo.
