WAR BABIES – Vault [Unreleased Recordings] (2024) *HQ*

Washington based record label NW Metalworx Music is releasing a new limited edition CD album from Seattle’s WAR BABIES. Properly titled “Vault“, the album features recently unearthed lost recordings.
“Vault” is comprised of unreleased recordings from a London Bridge session in May of 1990 (featuring Pearl Jam / Mother Love Bone bassist Jeff Ament), an A & M Studios session in 1991, and a couple of live recordings from 1992. The sound quality is very good.
Released in 1992, their self-titled “War Babies” appeared too late into the melodic hard rock scene, but they did a relentless touring anyway in a time where the music climate was doing a full 180.
War Babies had plans to go in and record a follow up album. While there was some material written and recorded for that, War Babies were dropped by their label in 1993 and broke up not long after.
“Vault” rescue these lost recordings, and glad Metalworx Music did it.

A mix of ’70s hard rock bands such as: Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, KISS, etc. with a dash of pop-punk, War Babies music still holds up very well as no-bullshit, ballsy hard rock. And now after all this time, there is more to be heard!
Comprised of recordings from a London Bridge session in May of 1990 (with bassist Jeff Ament), A & M Studios in 1991, and a couple of live recordings from 1992, these killer “lost” recordings are amazing.

“Watch Me Bleed” kicks off the album strongly, and “Man With A Golden Arm” is a haunting tribute to the late Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone singer and friend). “She Wants More” is an anthem you’ll want to sing along to, and “Walls” will rock you up against one.
The rest of the songs all crank and are filled with memorable hooks, solos, and the distinctive and powerful vocals of Sinsel. And the stripped down “unplugged” live radio recordings are the cherry on top.
