SILVERA – World Behind Doors (2024)
From the same country that offered Volbeat and D-A-D to the world, SILVERA stands for hard rock with a modern twist and timeless melodies. More than taking the legacy of Denmarks’s rock and metal music, the nordic four-piece started building their own history in 2020 with “Edge Of The World”, the debut album that put them on the map of all modern hard rock lovers.
Enter “World Behind Doors”. On their upcoming second album, Silvera endeavored to maintain the core elements of their own sound while also expanding the horizons. The result: an even fresher set of songs, taking the best elements of metal / hard rock and everything in between and putting them together to create songs that really stand out.
Once again, all the music was meticulously recorded at Hansen Studios, with Jacob Hansen (Anette Olzon, Arch Enemy, Delain, Epica) playing a pivotal role in preserving the essence of the Silvera sound.
Strong, confident, and self assured from the very first title track, SILVERA keeps things grounded and honest from the start, and carries this cool and breezy tone throughout the album.
There’s no cheap stadium modern rock here despite the updated sound production – and for that reason, upon release we imagine that this record will have an exceptionally broad appeal, and be well received all round.
SILVERA boasts their wonderful musicianship throughout here’s a sense that each band member has a fantastic ear for their instrument. From the specific guitar tones to the precision with which the instruments are played, SILVERA showcases their exceptional attention to detail in each and every song on this album.
And perhaps the most prevalent instrument of all, Michael Krough’s vocals on this record are truly captivating. Krough’s vocals add this feeling of balance, richness and warmth, which is then enhanced by the flawless mixing and mastering that has been done on this album.
Some honorable song mentions are title track “World Behind Doors”, which builds the soundscape for the rest of this album, and “Gone Too Far” which features guest vocalist Guarnica Mancini, lighting the album up in the middle and showing off some great collaboration.
With 12 tracks, the album sits in that sweet spot of being just the right length, and throughout there is a good mix of slower, more melodic material, and some heavier more dramatic songs too that really add some punch.
Overall, the album is enjoyable throughout, an easy listen, and technically a very well put together record.
Releasing on the 23rd of August 2024, we can see this album being ranking very well, and enjoyed by a wide range of hard rock / metal fans.
