Only available in Japan when originally released in the Nineties, some time ago AOR Heaven Records finally did justice to “Heroes“, the legendary second FRONTLINE album, fully remastered. It was a limited run CD reissue, now out of print. As requested, here we go.
“Heroes“ is an album stylistically pretty close to the mighty Journey, with an European AOR feeling as well. Probably none other German band got this close again. It’s because of the song material itself, and because of the charismatic voice of Stefan Kämmerer as well as Robby Boebel’s guitars that one cannot deny this comparison.
The songs are some of the best melodic hard rock / AOR to have ventured out of Germany. The opening pair of ‘Our Love’ and the title track ‘Heroes’ are sensational, and perhaps best reflect their intention.

Brilliant tracks by the likes of ‘Someone To Love’, ‘Break My Heart Again’, excellent midtempo ‘Moving Closer’ (reaclling Steve Perry ’80s solo albums), the melodic rock perfection of ‘I Must Be Dreaming’, and of course the single “Man In Motion“ make this album a true diamond shine for the genre.
Only Japanese fans enjoyed this album back when originally released. Easy to imagine what would have happened if this record had come out a few years earlier and released world-wide.

For years impossible to find, “Heroes” is a melodic rock / AOR gem, mandatory in your collection. Remastered by Frontline’s Robby Boebel at his own recording facility, this reissue was strictly limited to 1000 units. This is classic stuff, and sold out soon.
